I lived and paid taxes all through the era of a balanced budget in the 90s and early 2000s. They just spent the surplus. The balanced budget didn't help me. And when when the government started running deficits it didn't hurt me. It strait up doesn't matter, no one really cares.

Trump 1.0 gets in to a fight with that shithead NY governor and slaps a SALT deduction cap on ALL states to punish NY. That cost me real money out of my pocket but I went along with it because the principled view is always fuck NY.

The BBB raises the SALT cap and takes away income tax on OT. Those two things alone will directly put thousands of dollars back in to my pocket every year. I would rather keep my money instead of sending it to DC where they piss it away on dumb shit like paying people $7,500 to buy Elon's meme mobiles.

Things are bad and the BBB does nothing to fix them. Oh well, at least I will get paid.
If Elon cares so much about MUH DEFICIT then maybe he should zero out the invoices on all those big SpaceX contracts he has. And discount his cars $7,500 rather then asking the tax payer to subsidize them.

Yes, but Musk himself controlled PayPal and left it before moving onto Tesla et al.

Edit: He, Harris Fricker, Christopher Payne, and Ed Ho bought digital wallet company Confinity and merged it with their online financial services site X.com. X went under disagreements, Harris left soon after, and Musk got replaced with Peter Thiel, who then named it PayPal.

Elon's Dad is the reason why he is successful. Almost all Elon's companies (not including PayPal because that's Thiel's baby) only made money because his dad would hire someone competent to take over and get it in a position to sell. So he's technically old money, but doesn't talk to his dad because he's a genuinely shitty person. All of Elon's behind the scene handlers are new money South African's though. The only smart business decision Elon did was get into Tesla and make part of the agreement that he founded the company and push the original founders out. SpaceX and Starlink have other backers but the only reason those make money is military money so, Trump's right that we shouldn't prop up retards with our tax dollars, even if SpaceX is actually useful.
