Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Preorders for Black Bolt/White Flare dropped on Target's online store last night and they surprisingly stayed up for a lot longer than I anticipated, that might hint at the theory of TPCi cutting out LGSs from the loop to curb scalping and slap distributors a bit.
Did anyone test if the classroom cutscene at the start of the game still runs at Stop-Motion FPS on the Switch 2?
Not that I know of, I'm just seeing people running it in various areas that would make the Switch 1 beg for mercy on its soul.
So the switch 2 turned a shit game that runs like shit into a shit game that runs like butter.
Kind of, it's at least convinced me to pick up the Switch 2 Edition of Legends Z-A

Has anyone tried trading pokemon from a modded Switch 1 on custom firmware to a Switch 2 running scarlet/violet or any of the switch pokemon games for that matter? I traded pokemon from my modded switch on EmuNand to my fully legit non modded switch and it works (fully offline in local). I was never banned on either console. Pokemon scarlet/violet specifically is a game where it's known that nintendo checks for modified saves (my main saves have never been modified). I was just wondering if trading pokemon to a Switch 2 from a hacked switch 1 would still work and not lead to a ban. I dont want to transfer my pokemon saves to switch 2 and no longer be able to trade pokemon to my modded switch for editing in pkhex.

Gen 9 has the best designs since gen 2 in my opinion. Gen 1's designs are so iconic and memorable because they feel like they were just someone screwing around and not taking it all that seriously, and Gens 3 through 8 were trying too hard to make Pokemon cool and edgy. (Though a lot of this comes down to the OG mons being constrained by what designs would look good on a Gameboy, and what was cheap to draw in the anime. I think those constraints forced the designs to be simple and intelligible.)

Before I'm accused of being a boomer: I played gen 3 and 4 as a kid, and came to these opinions as an adult. (Though an honorable exemption goes out to Alolan Exeggutor, which has the right spirit.)

I love it when outside users come to this thread and post the most outrageously bonkers takes on this franchise. Gen 9? Better than gen 3? What are you smoking and where can I get some?

Is there any word on whether Pokemon Coliseum on Switch 2 will work with Pokemon Home? I'm not feeling the switch after the wokeness announcement, but I have nostalgia for those games and have been putting off replaying them because I'd have to re buy a GBA, a link cable and like six other games and systems to bring my Pokemon to the modern games
-or you could just emulate all the games on one device and not ever consider giving nintendo a red coin ever again.

I dont get the appeal of S/V. It doesn't feel like a pokemon game. I don't need back to back to back to back cutscenes to explain that a pokemon crashing from the sky into a random cave was probably hurt and needed help.

All I needed was "here's your starter, go get the first gym badge". Not lectures on how super special the box art legendaries are who aren't usable in battle. Why even have them in the game at all then? Could just have any other pokemon for a mount to ride around like ORAS did with Latias/Latios. You could also use mega latias/latios in battle too. What makes these cyborg lizards so special they're exempt from battling? Not even Arceus got that kind of special treatment.

And thats the problem. As a rather extreme example, anyone old enough to be a kid in the 80s think back to how much more exciting toys were when they had backstory and character to them. The basic pokemon plot like in gen 1 and 2 aint gonna cut it, and modern game freak doesnt even have the chops to use limited storytelling techniques to sell you on the world and get you invested.

I think Game Freak might actually be sabotaging Pokémon at this point
if this is what they can do for fucking soulslike slop, there is even less reason to excuse the absolute state of their mainline games
This average-looking Unreal particle effect simulator curbstomps the shit out of the balcony jpegs in ZA. If they can make this soulslop look like modern games, what the fuck is happening at the Pokemon aisle?

Rhetorical question, of course, it's pretty clear that Game Freak's burnt out on Pokemon. It's understandable, they've spent 30 years developing the same game over and over again, and when they try to do something different it doesn't sell, either because it sucks ass or because it just isn't Pokemon and doesn't pull the same numbers as Pokemon. I sometimes wonder if the OGs like Ken Sugimori and Satoshi Tajiri resent what their passion project has become.

I followed barely anything about Gen 9, the fact that people are willing to defend a game where you can't use the box art legendary is mind-boggling. Why are they even playing? Has open world ubislop conditioned gamers so thoroughly that an empty field to run around in gives them a pavlovian boner?
they've spent 30 years developing the same game over and over again,
They've not even been making the 'same game' for the last ten. The last time there was a game with undisputed iteration was BW2 in 2012, they couldn't even make the same game when they've been doing literal remakes since then.

I think my schitzo theory may be coming to pass. A while ago, I speculated that Nintendo is tired of Game Freak and is moving to buy them out, and it will be Creatures and Nintendo running TPC instead. Nintendo's in-house games are very polished, and I think that lack of control angers them because it must be embarrassing.

As for S/V holy shit the game is finally playable, if they cut out Namora the game would be tolerable. I don't know who is worse, Hop or Nemora. Gen 9 has some OK designs, they are no way near as bad as Sun and Moon. Wind and Waves sounds interesting because Terastilization is not awful.

Personally I enjoyed their 3DS game Harmoknight. It even had Pokemon songs as bonus unlocks (Gen 1 and 2 with Gen 5 battle theme being the last unlockable boss song). Only downside is the timing is a bit on the strict side, especially when you have to play the songs all over again in double speed for completion sake.

ETA: Was I really the only one here who watched those "don't press the B button" videos as a kid? You're no fun.
Those videos had the Pokémon end up being in a half-way evolved state. Even if this video wa supposed to be one of those, I did not see anything that involved actually pressing the B button, but a Pikachu evolve into something exceptional.

It's still in the same style of a Pokemon evolution going wrong, you've also got videos of mons evolving into toast-shaped scribbles and being deleted (there was a video of a Snivy being deleted by pressing B because the poster didn't like Servine, but I can't find it). I remembered this one because I found it funny yet disturbing.

As unpolished as Pokemon is it still sells like hotcakes, even if Nintendo wants to buy Game Freak, I doubt GF would let themselves be bought out.

Also, Hop is worse just by virtue of being a clone of Hau.
