I think Pokemon coliseum would basically remedy a lot of the critiques people throw at the series while simultaneously pushing people to actually become interested in VGC.

The battles aren't necessarily harder than the average core game, but the double format completely recontexualizes the way we are forced to engage with the mechanics.

We could also use this of course to diversified gym leaders and what they specialize in too.
Well, problem with that is that it was not made by GameFreak, and they will always be eternally asshurt that a random studio with absolutely no experience with the franchise could outdo them in their first outtake, twice in a row. Their punishment? Eternal stay at the mobile mines, RIP. Even if Battle Revolution was mediocre, they didn't deserve this.
The anime power-of-friendship BS added by the affection system was genuinely one of the worst ideas. I think I hate this more than the gamebreaking buffs.
This was always part of the franchise, tho. It's typical stuff you see in child friendly media. Affection should have just been merged with the outdated Friendship mechanic and be done with it.

Some of the gen 9 mons straight up use stock sounds in their cries. Crocalor, Wattrel and Kilowattrel use the same stock sounds as some Spore mouth parts.

Oh my god someone else finally fucking noticed this.

It baffles me how nobody has mentioned it, not once, before you. All the fucking dogs they introduced have these extremely generic barks as well. I can barely remember any cries past gen 5 and I only stopped playing around the middle of gen 7. Something really fucked up the way cries were designed in between gens 6 and 7, because I can still remember at least a few gen 6 cries, but I couldn't recall a single one past 7 if you put a gun to my head. I think the only exception might be Espathra, and that's just because it's so contrary to the design that it genuinely made me think the fabric ostrich was supposed to be a girly robot made out of chrome.
This happened even in Generation 4: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Pokémon_Diamond_and_Pearl

If you want to do anything more than basic edits, I'd recommend using the Emerald decomp. Getting it set up can be a hurdle, but it's way easier in the longrun when making changes because you're working with the game's code directly and don't need to fuck around with a hundred tools.
There is also an expansion engine that adds a lot of modern features: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threa...-pokemon_expansion-and-item_expansion.431486/

I want Ohmori beheaded and his remains pulped down to the atomic level. Disconnect his protons from his neutrons so he can never be reconstructed in even the slightest form and scatter him to the solar winds. Kill
...just lock him in WHITE SPACE.

Yeah, just dont do a fucking vanilla++++ deluxe with specific QoL but the same map and story
That would actually be good when doing a practise hack, though I agree with Registration in that a serious hack would need to stand out above the many Vanilla+ hacks that fill the binary landscape by necessity.

Necro-quoting, I know, but I also played up until Sinnoh and then basically stopped for a decade+ until I picked up X, AS and Sun secondhand. My advice for anyone getting back into the modern games after Gen 3 is to enjoy the extreme levels of generosity, ignore the jank and the 4chan board, and if you’re feeling nostalgic, come see how incredibly far the old gen romhacks have come- shit like Radical Red and Emerald Seaglass are worthy of being put on carts.

I don’t have too many dumb kid stories (I had the Prima guides helping me after all) but in my desperation for a good Psychic type in Gen 2 my dumb kid ass tried very hard to make Unown work, since I didn’t want to use Kadabra (couldn’t evolve it without link cable), Hypno (too ugly), Espeon (Umbreon was cooler), Girafarig (no thanks), or Lugia (cheating, boring, should’ve been a Water type).
I do not kno what is funnier: your extrem efforts in making Unown work or your eason wh you did not use Hypno.
Then again, the Pokémon games make beating the game with any Pokémon possible; what is funny is the great pains you took.

Went from the first tranny Cathy Fitzpatrick
To the golden Era of zarel, now back to some lgbt tranny called hecate being the lead engineer.

It wasnt all rainbow(pun) and sunshine back in the golden era, there was still some obscure and deep tranny drama like the Goddess Briyella debacle, but nothing like like this, being greeted with gayfaggotry right on on the landing screen, like.... young kids play in this site every daty, the only saving grace is that you can control the theme and background otherwise those troons would force faggotry imagery down on everyoens throat.

Huh, it's true, a ton of gen 5 Pokemon use stock sounds in their cries, Whirlipede's is really obvious.
Maybe the reason why it doesn't stand out as much is because before gen 6, the edits and the DS compression masked the sounds and made them less obvious (you can hardly tell Grotle's cry used a man's scream). But with the Switch, and to a lesser extent the 3DS, the stock sounds aren't as distorted so they're easier to notice.

Also, lol at that site tagging Palworld as a Pokemon game.

Played a bit of Emerald Rouge again. Reached elite four this time. The team i build was pretty fun (Dodrio with poison ord and facade, Charizard with dragon dance and fire Blitz, Herocross with choice band and close-combat, Metagross with assault vest).

The problem is im fighting the gen 5 gym leaders. with the other gen, you can figure who you fighting but with gen 5, there 13 gym leader you have to be ready for. thats insane!

I don't know if anyone watches the anime but I've been watching the Sun and Moon japanese dub (Not a fan of the english dub voices) after watching reviews for it. I know there's a lot of divided opinions about this anime, but I actually didn't think it was that bad. It had its moments but my god, why was the first season filled with filler before we got to an actual plot? Also, is it me or did Mallow/Mao get fucked over? The first season strongly implied that she was going to be the main female lead but then they did nothing with her and basically made Lillie the main girl while Lana and Mallow (especially her) got sidelined hard. I thought the episode where she finally meets her mom again was a sad but good episode, but there was no build up to Mallow's mom being dead. Overall, Sun and Moon isn't terrible imo, but I felt like it had potential to be an even better Pokemon series had it didn't have a lot of filler episodes, and some of the main characters actually got development that they desperately needed.

Is there any word on whether Pokemon Coliseum on Switch 2 will work with Pokemon Home? I'm not feeling the switch after the wokeness announcement, but I have nostalgia for those games and have been putting off replaying them because I'd have to re buy a GBA, a link cable and like six other games and systems to bring my Pokemon to the modern games

I played so much Unbound today... Jesus fucking christ this mining minigame is so much fun, even more when you get access to more places to fight ultra beasts and legendaries by unlocking caves using light clay.

Also you can farm iron balls to make ultra beast balls and other items.

This game may be the first one that I try to capture all the dex, now that the main story is told, the world is my oyster and I can explore and do the mini missions as I want.

That's the thing. The Blueberry Academy segment in the DLC is literally that, and all the NPCs use VGC-level teams, which means they can do it, but they more often than not use singles in the main game for whatever reason.

Also, man I really wanna talk about the alleged ZA stuff because the Final boss sounds crazy

Holy shit. I was leaving the mines to heal.my pokemon and suddenly a Articuno appeared in an event, I saved and initiated a fight with him, as I killed it twice, I reseted and a Shiny Articuno appeared. I never found a shiny legendary in my whole life (most being zubats).

I am not doing any method and in Unbound, the shiny rate is 1/4000.

What a fucking shock

I'm taking a break from MKW and decided to fire up Scarlet to see how the free Switch 2 update changed things.

Holy fuck it's runs so much better compared to the Switch you’d almost think you’re playing a different game. The game runs at a stable 60 FPS even in areas that have become infamous for being laggy as shit like Cassaroya Lake, menus are snappy with no slowdown, and the amount of Pokémon that spawn in and the distance they can spawn from the player have noticeably increased

That’s not to say that the game isn’t without its issues even with the update, the environmental textures are still crappy and I think there’s an issue involving loading a low-poly model of the Academy when it should load the high-poly one.

Did anyone test if the classroom cutscene at the start of the game still runs at Stop-Motion FPS on the Switch 2?

So the switch 2 turned a shit game that runs like shit into a shit game that runs like butter.
