Weird take on Mario Kart needing some kind of competitive ranking or whatever.
According to Phil, any game that has a competitive online multiplayer component is competing with every other one for attention and therefor needs some kind of ranking system or some gimmick. Mario Kart being a "party" game pure and simple means that it will be dropped by most people in a week, which Nintendo doesn't want.

Ignoring for a moment how popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was on the original Switch (and to a lesser extent on the Wii U), I mean how does this explain things like Fall Guys or Among Us? People play party games because their fun, Phil, there's not a huge amount of people that want to get into Mario Kart for the tournament scene.

It's not called Mario Party dunce so it's obviously competing with Fortnite and CoD in the online competitive game space! God this is dented as fuck.

when you play mario kart is to have some random fun with your family, I play fighting games but games like mario kart are family fun that I also enjoy, I play it with my sister that knows jackshit about competitive games, the pig has no one to play with, no family, not even his wife plays with him, play with his 10 fans? absolutely no, he is no one's bitch according to him.
