Did we ever get the details on Ian's dad's conviction? I feel like that is a huge piece of the puzzle of why Ian is the way he is. Ian was born to married parents. His dad then went to (federal?) prison for around 10 years. Mom, Ian and older sister lived in a trailer park single-mom style for the first 10-ish years of Ian's life, then dad came back and they continued where they left off as a seemingly functional nuclear family with his parents still married to this day? I might have the details wrong, but that is a very strange and unique upbringing. What did his dad do to get so much time? Was he a career criminal with priors? Is he still a criminal, or did he majorly reform and become a normal and upstanding family man? What was he truly like as a father/husband? How does Ian really feel about him today? Did his mom date other men before getting back with him, or was she patiently faithful the whole time? Anisa and Ian talk about Ian's parents like they are your typical innocent, wholesome WASP family. But Ian also hints that his dad was rough with him (like in the Anthony Padilla interview, and Coach Michael "triggering" Ian by yelling like his dad), and not flying him out to CC2 had to be intentional.

This doesn't have to do with your question, but the fact that Anisa called Ian "trailer park trash" because he was living with his single mother in a trailer is disgusting on her part.

Ian, I have finished listening to H3H3's roast of you and your BPD ball n chain. It sounds like you need a bossy Woman to function, good news: there are non BPD bossy Women out their who will "henpeck" you into good hygiene instead of financial ruin. You need yourself a God fearing, Jesus loving Woman who will boss you into becoming a better man. Here's what you do:
  1. Move to a Northern State (not canada, stay in the USA) where weed is legal.
  2. Priotize finding a smaller city (<100,000 residents, ideally <50,000). You'll do better somewhere less crowded and quieter, I promise.
  3. Get a job at a dispensary (they are always hiring, won't care about your tattoos, and your BO will be covered up by the strong, dank odor of cannabis.)
  4. Start attending Church regularly. Show up and offer to help at the service (sign up to be a greeter, help at communion, be an usher, etc. They always need help and will admire you for it)
  5. Keep doing this for a few years, a nice Church gal will eventually notice you. (I know you like dogs, use that as a conversation starter, if she reciprocates, thats a good sign)
  6. PAY FOR THE FIRST DATE YOU DORK (after that you can go dutch if she's into it)
  7. Get married, knock her up, raise your family quietly and offline.
  8. Die at the ripe old age of 109 because the good Christian Woman you married helped you stay happy and healthy.

Heritability estimates for BPD are 40-60% then that heritability is added to an unstable home environment.(we all know her mom and she's probably responsible for the genes and the environment) and I'm fairly sure the siblings either got lucky with the genetic draw or are just torturing their partners in non internet famous ways.
