The poll just seems dumb to me because it's not clear what Elon means. I think a lot of people answering assume that he means the middle class, i.e. the middle 80% of income earners. This leaves out the richest 10% but also the poorest 10%, who likely need the most help. However, I think his intention was to cover 80% of the political spectrum by finding issues that at least 80% of Americans can agree on. Assuming a one-dimensional political spectrum, that leaves out the 10% of people with the most extreme views on each end.

Elon is right to be worried about the debt but like most folks on the right, he doesn't get it. Even with DOGE, he never targeted Medicare and the Military which are some of where most of the issues lie. Cutting USAID, while good for killing tranny research, meant nothing to the overall budget. Also, too many people think we can just cut spending (Bessent included) but if we are serious, we have to raise taxes, especially on corporations who pay basically nothing. Trump doesn't want to do it since all his friends are rich and they want low taxes. This will happen eventually as countries want to get paid.

Taxes will go in every developed country soon as to much wealth is accumulating upward and almost every country has too much debt. Sorry Bezos, you can't buy that third yacht.
