It makes no sense - the Democrats left no stone unturned looking for dirt on Trump, even after Biden won in 2020. If there was a stack of files sitting in an FBI office proving Trump was sleeping with underage women on Jeffery Epstein's diddler island, there's absolutely no way said files wouldn't have been immediately leaked and published on the front pages of the NY Times.

I think the files show Trump doing something like riding in the plane, but no proof of criminal activity. This raises suspicion, regardless of guilt, therefore he'd rather not show it.

As others mentioned people already knew Trump was involved with Epstein, but I think a lot of people overestimate this fact considering he was only listed there once. I never believed he was truly a pedo or trafficker in this one instance because of this weird incident that followed it, which some people might be familiar with I just can't find it anymore. He made this post after the fact essentially saying 'Just met with Epstein, really great guy. Really likes the ladies too. Some says he likes them YOUNG, like really YOUNG.' I honestly believe he was whistleblowing back then, but maybe people would find that idea too optimistic.

Ultimately I have doubts that Elon even laid eyes on the Epstein files at all. I knew it was going to bite Trump eventually to be involved with him because he's so petty and attention seeking in everything he does, and I 100% thought that when they did eventually fight that Musk would do something petty on the way out. Ultimately this feels kind of weak to me, like I legit thought Musk might release docs or do some worse shit once he pissed Trump off. The actual best possible outcome would be Trump calling his bluff and actually releasing the unredacted Epstein files, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

There was a report of Trump kicking out Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar a Lago, possibly due to Epstein trying to solicit female hotel staff into working for him as "masseuses". That news tidbit was swept up at the moment of its release and conveniently ignored by most legacy media. Im pretty sure that shows Trump knew what Epstein was, but didn't use his services. Or he did, but I doubt it.

The poll just seems dumb to me because it's not clear what Elon means. I think a lot of people answering assume that he means the middle class, i.e. the middle 80% of income earners. This leaves out the richest 10% but also the poorest 10%, who likely need the most help. However, I think his intention was to cover 80% of the political spectrum by finding issues that at least 80% of Americans can agree on. Assuming a one-dimensional political spectrum, that leaves out the 10% of people with the most extreme views on each end.

I see two problems with this: first, our education system, and concomitantly American critical thinking skills have been in the gutter for decades and it continues to be dismantled in favor of schools run with profit seeking in mind.

Second, our media landscape has become a series of echo chambers (Reddit, Telegram, Fox News, etc) that simply reflect what we want to hear, or one up it. People are encouraged to do their own research, something that they were never even taught to do, so they simply look for memes that agree with them and repost them. That's how we get the president tweeting that Biden's a robot clone. The fairness doctrine is ancient history.

We're being fed bad information, nowadays starting in the toddler years when we start swiping at touchscreens, and many of us hardly have a chance to develop the skills we need to parse an increasingly complex world. There are now grown adults who do not understand that the newsfeed they see on Facebook is different for other people. So if it's telling them Hillary was just executed for eating babies, they assume everyone else is getting the same news, like a national newspaper.
