Anti-immigration is not wildly popular. Anti-illegal-immigration is wildly popular. Legalizing illegals is wildly unpopular. Feds dumping 20,000 strangers on most any community while expecting locals to foot the bill is wildly unpopular. Settling refugees can go both ways depending on where they're from, where they're sent, their skillset, and how they behave once settled. I rarely if ever hear people complain about Koreans or Germans or Filipinos or even Nigerians (although depends on whether they're real blue collar businessmen or not.) I don't count opposing endless H1B visas as anti-immigration tbf because massive American businesses have been shown to abuse expediated immigration processes in order to cut down on American citizens, both native and foreign born, for demanding better pay and hours and benefits.
