Now LAPD is out there busting heads and arresting anti-fag. I wonder who stepped in and told Bass to STUF and sit down.
tl;dr: The rioter are literal illegal aliens, people unlawfully inside the US, and they are obstructing Federal agents. Trump has been making good on his threats to declare them foreign enemies.
That is, going to bat for these people, knowing they are unlawful foriegn aliens, is very literally aiding and abedding foreign enemies and obstructing the legitimate operations of the elected federal government. AKA

Small quibble here - he is voicing support for them but action wise hasn't done anything. He has refused to act, but he is not willfully obstructing.
You could argue that's the same thing but its harder to prove, especially with executive privilege as governor and "We didn't want to escalate" has a logic to it. Basically the way this is be dealt with is politically: Voted out and/or recalled for not echoing the will of the voters.
Refusing to deploy the national guard: refusal to act.
