Like with their relationship it doesnt even seem like one from the outside. They go to "couples therapy" yet all the issues they have with each other are just laid out on a podcast for the public to see but still never addressed by each other just brushed off in some second hand comment. Firstly you clearly dont have a happy marriage if couples therapy is a regular thing on the weekly. Like with Marzia and Pewdiepie I can see that they obviously care deeply for each other and barely post anything about their personal lives/marriage besides a trip vlog or something like that.
Anisa and Ian its like watching two roommates talk about living together. It's like their in their own little bubble ignoring all the problems instead of dealing with them head on. Honestly any sane person from the outside can see that they're just staying together out of obligation because they married or Ian thinks this is the best he can do. They seriously need to have a sit down and look at themselves to understand what they are and why they are together. I know for a fact now that everyone single one of Ian's friends while he was dating Anisa would have told him about the red flags but he was too wrapped around her finger at this point that he just cut contact instead of facing it head on.
You've lost everything because someone was in your ear whispering how to live your life. That isnt a relationship thats abuse.
Marzia and Pewdiepie have a lot of videos together, which imo are really cute. Everytime they're on screen together you can tell they love each other. They also have tons of compilations on youtube made by fans from all their moments together.
Another couple, somewhat relevant to Anisa because she used to stream league and dated a league pro player, Tyler1 and Macaiyla. The start of their relationship was very messy, Macaiyla was his mod, he flew her out while being in a relationship with some crazy girl, stuff like that. I guess the difference is they're both known for being toxic (no one associated with league of legends is normal lets be honest) but still somewhat matured, have a kid now and a loyal fanbase. Macaiyla is kinda lolcowish but she owns it and is fine with her bf's fanbase bullying her. Their kid is off limits and the fans are super sweet to her.
Anyway, even Tyler and Macaiyla have those cute couple youtube compilations and people who love them as a couple. Ian and Anisa never had that, because they don't have chemistry. It's not about being messy or pissing people off or being controversial, at the end of the day watching them together in a video it's like two awkward roommates or a mom and her autistic son.
I guess if they were super in love and we saw that despite all the drama, one would maybe understand why Ian would let his entire life and career be ruined. But there's nothing, no fun or sweet couple moments, no flirting, no affection, just Anisa seething and insulting him.
Their podcast doesn't just expose them for being boring and dumb as fuck, it also shows their lack of chemistry, romance, affection. Do they even like each other or are they just business partners?
