That claim is going to be made by people who don't understand the NG's function, the NG is only there to guard federal/government buildings, not to lead local police with guns blazing indiscriminately
The LAPD are doing their own thing as we can see plenty of, they are being backed up by additional forces which isn't escalation by itself, the city is just too big and there's too many violent criminals all at once
Even if the NGs react defensively to murder attempts, it will get spun as an attempt to escalate anyway

It's bullshit. The rioters demand an end to ICE raids, and the rioting will continue until either the feds pull out, or they start really using the National Guard and military to restore order. This is an insurrection to overthrow the Federal government's power in LA, and LAPD hasn't been able to control anything since Friday night. The beaner SEIU leader got released on 50k bail today, and the rioting hasn't slowed down even a little bit, in spite of this dude's release being high on their list of demands. Homan said today that the ICE raid on Friday wasn't even a deportation raid, it was to shut down an international money laundering ring--arresting criminals instead of garden-variety wetbacks, as they have promised to do all along.

It's a real Mexican standoff, and I don't think the Mexicans are going to win this one. If Trump lets them win, that meme map of Mexico being the whole west coast will become real, and Trump will go down as the worst President in history, even worse than Joe Biden, for losing the 5th largest economy in the world to Mexico. Do you think Trump will let himself go down in history as the only President to lose a whole state to a foreign country?
