One thing that really struck me is how different he sounds. He doesn't sound good, he sounds real bad, but he sounds better in these than he sounds today. Even by this point his voice had lost a lot of 'fullness', it's incredibly nasal and there's a scratchiness like his throat's fucked up.

Yeah. And if you pay attention, he notices it too. When he does it you can watch him catch himself doing it then he deepens his voice and speaks more deliberately and softly. I have no idea what's caused it but the first time I remember hearing it was when he was calling into NLO all the time, which would have been when he was getting drug tested and thus was using the shit out of whippits.

During the Whippits stream a month or so ago, he would break into the same weird inflection when he'd come back from huffing some nitrous. Then as his high wore off he'd catch himself and go back to a normal-ish voice. I think that's just what his natural voice sounds like now, and he has to actively suppress it to sound normal.

I'll also say that his other voice changes - his voice being 'wobbly' and lacking fullness like an elderly person's voice - come out when he speaks loudly (but not screaming). So he's been deliberately keeping his voice down on his trial streams as well.

Dude's fried his throat and his brain, and he KNOWS it, but he STILL can't bring himself to stop abusing substances. Nick, that is what addiction is. You cannot stop, you have been unable to stop, you are not sober now nor have you been for YEARS! You need help lil nigga. I picked up on it almost immediately, and I think there's a really good chance that he's engineering this statement to be able to walk it back. Nick layers technicalities like lines of defense, so he can fall back time after time without technically changing his story. I think there's a good chance he's afraid of some kind of evidence somewhere of him laying hands on a family member, and he's preparing to be able to say something like...

"Look I never said I didn't ever do it. It was a one time thing, and we forgave each other and moved past it.".

You have to over-analyze someone like this, maintain little notes of what they said and clip them. Otherwise he'll just try to manipulate time after time.
