I clicked on one of the links that went to her Youtube channel, clicked on the Jaffe interview, heard her voice, then saw the hearing aid she was wearing - she is quite obviously deaf or hard of hearing, most likely born that way, as people that lose their hearing later in life don't typically develop "deaf voice", though hers isnt too bad.

(edit): Correction, I mistook her earbud for a hearing aid, I only watched a couple of minutes before I made the original post, went back to double check and saw I was wrong about the aids. She still has deaf voice though, so until proven otherwise I'm going to presume she is/was deaf.
