It’s either someone close to her that knows her real identity or it’s an obsessive stalker fan. Either way, she’s probably nervous right now and with good reason.
Nerissa has probably one of the least secretive PL identities of anyone in EN not named Kiara or Calli. I don't think it takes some obsession for someone to know her name and I don't think she's gonna be that spooked by it because her RM replies are already filled with jailbird pfps.

Her PL was really well known.
Was her PL channel name her real life name?
I don't understand the nervousness.

Edit:
retard-chama, her legal name has been her youtube name for like 5+ years.....
No fucking way she actually put her legal name on her channel like it was FaceBook in 2015?

are people somehow.............. not familiar with the fact that there are people that do work and content creation and are credited by their name? She was a voice actor and has her name credited in things. She has an IMDB page. Her going by her name is pretty standard for the course.

I'm aware it's just fucking retarded to have your whole real life name on the internet.

But before the 2020s it was more common, yes.

I just think that folks need to realize that in the normal working world going by your name is pretty much just normal. "even in the 2020s" the mindset that it's not just makes it sound like you don't "get out much" in terms of your internet consumption.

Not everyone is hyper entrenched in shit that makes maintaining online anonymity important, and especially when you're looking for acting gigs they're going to want your name anyway.

Mori has had her legal name in the credits of most of her VA roles post and pre Holo
I remember Dooby talking about her past work in film & TV doing sound design or something like that on her debut stream. Was that something people already knew or did she just soft dox for the fuck of it?

I get seeing it as weird, but a big part of early netiquette developed in the context of there being no good reason to ever actually expose your IRL self back then. There was no real avenue for monetizing content in those early days. That hasn't been true for going on two decades now; now there's actually valid reasons to create some kind of footprint for yourself. There's a world of difference between being a performer of some kind and being a shitposter saying the dangerwords.

100% the reason for this is most likely every single vtuber has at least one known stalker and they provide the staff with their information to have a list of people to remove from Offkai 😂.
Don't they need your ID when you sign up to buy a ticket?
Why can't they just ban them from the con then and there?

She has close to 70k subs as a youtube indie... that's more than a lot of Phase's talents and definitely more than their newest gen and only slightly less than MariMari's youtube sub count. Seems odd she would graduate to give up her homegrown IP, and sub base to start new.
The only thing I could make someone want to do that would be lots of money or HoloLive.

It's California - they might actually have to worry about getting sued by sexpests for discrimination. Trying to get in touch with the women they stalk is probably where the line is bright and red enough to not have to worry about catching a retaliatory suit.

as far as I know it was all new information but from just what she told us her name could easily be found
said she worked as a foley artist on a Wizard of Oz animated series that won an emmy, searching for that turns up Los in Oz, which you can scroll through it's staff on IMDB and see the foley artist's name

I think we already knew her first name but then the last name also lines up with her reveal that she's Cuban

I think though too just like when talents depart and think "why would they give up that money!?" that there are backend reasons why people make these decisions and it's not just "money number bigger" To some people solo content creation at a certain point becomes more work then they enjoy doing on the back end and they'd rather just go somewhere that will have staff to support them behind the scenes. I think Mari expressed something in that line of sentiment about why she joined phase.

All of Myth were namedoxed early on*, and largely facedoxed, although Ina's was limited to a video of her college graduation, I'm pretty sure; Gura only had one recent-ish picture that got spread, and that was a product of some of the most hardcore internet detectivery I've ever head about and was almost entirely pulled from other people's accounts, not hers. But the IMDB thing actually was new info that had escaped notice for years somehow.

*And in an amazing twist of fate, their first initials could be arranged to spell SHARK.
