There's also the issue we've discussed a couple times where the Boomers broke the system. None of them "built up" the GenX people who came after them, so there's this weird gap now that didn't exist before.

Over the past 15 or so years many departments made sweeping changes to their fitness requirements. Hasn't happened in all departments but there has been a noticeable shift. Also a lot of boomer officers are retiring and there's a lot of young people signing up to be cops these days because they're tired of anarchy.

Honestly I have been loving the mounted police, so cool to see good horses put to work like their bred to do and the bonus of seeing them stomp on beaners makes it better
