He obviously didn't put on a jacket and tie for the stream - that outfit is definitely for his afternoon "doctor appointment". To discuss test results from the tests he got yesterday at his "check up". They must move fast there in Spicer, MN because every time I get a physical the follow up gets scheduled for 1-2 weeks out to give time for the test results to come in, I've never had test results come back in 24 hours. Except for this one time I went to the ER.

It's clearly not a "doctor appointment". He didn't have a "checkup" yesterday. Whatever happened yesterday requires a tie and jacket today. Remember that K said that Nick wore a fuckin Joker suit to his sentencing so while most of us wouldn't wear a US Flag tie to something important, Nick isn't above it.

It's a state law case. States handle their own records laws. There's a bare minimum for federal protections like the First Amendment to cover it (they can't just have no access to courts and records at all), but even really bad state public records laws usually are going to meet them.

If the courts rule that yoinking a previously public record like this is okay, then there's also the possibility of an independent suit against the sheriff or any other entities that have the footage (if they don't "routinely" destroy it), or discovery from any of the parties who have it (fat chance).
