At the same time, there are lots of things that happen in real life but male authors rarely go out of their way to depict in such detail. For example, European cities in the Middle ages were extremely unsanitary compared to today and had no proper sewer system. In fact, most cities didn't have a functioning sewer system until the industrial revolution. Because many fantasy novels take place in a world inspired by Medieval Europe, you would think that this would be reflected in the genre.

Yet, male fantasy authors who will write long, detailed and "realistic" descriptions of a beautiful female character being raped rarely go to such great lengths when it comes to depicting the unsanitary conditions of the world their characters live in. Why don't they write page-long "realistic" descriptions of the male main character having diarrhea and then throwing his bucket full of shit out of the window into the overground sewer, which stinks because of all the human waste in it? Most male orbiters will then argue that nobody wants to read about the character having diarrhea*. Which means that they do want to read about women being raped.

There was a time where anime was using very graphic rape in the first and second episode to gain attention and a viewership. Goblin Slayer and Revenge of Healer are so vile it kinda put me off anime for good, and I hate how popular that kind of format has become. Same way I abhor what Game of Thrones did for Fantasy in general 10 years ago, but I am not surprised seeing who wrote it.
