Real answer: because people will spend near-unlimited amounts to game the system in whatever way is possible. They'll bribe a state department official to get a fake passport. You could do that for a few mil, easy. So instead of the money going to criminals and being used to do end runs around the rules, you have a rule that allows it.
At a 5 million dollar price tag it's really not statistically relevant. I've seen people bringing up "this is how many people on earth who have 5 million dollars" but it's not that simple. Almost all of those people have 5 million in net worth which is is no way shape or form money that can just be spent. The amount of people who have 5 million in liquid cash that they own personally and can just spend, is likely not even 500,000 people and most of those are already in america, a lot more or white europeans.

Yes a lot of people with a net worth of 5 million could sell their assetts to the US to get this citizenship but it's still not that simple. Outright buying something for yourself for 5 million is extremely hard.

I'm opposed to this for ideological reasons but it's really kind of a nothingburger and certainly won't impact votes. Illegal immigration and anchor babies are a WAY bigger problem there.

>President Donald Trump says he’s considering an executive order that would allow certain undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. to help prevent a shortage of farm workers.

ok that's fucked up. All American citizens have to pay taxes on income earned overseas over 100k. Why should the rich who buy citizenship get exempted from the same double taxation that other American expats get

8 Arrests Following Wednesday Protest in Downtown Seattle
Seattle Police Department (archive.ph)
By Sergeant Patrick Michaud
2025-06-12 06:55:51GMT
On Wednesday night, protestors marched peacefully from Capitol Hill to downtown Seattle as part of a demonstration. The march began with a 7 PM rally at Cal Anderson Park, a frequent gathering place for protests in Seattle.

Seattle police monitored the event from a distance. While most of the march was peaceful, at 10 PM officers intervened when some individuals set fire to a dumpster at 3rd Avenue and Marion Street.

Police staged near the group while they waited for the Seattle Fire Department to arrive. Individuals from the group confronted them, throwing bottles, rocks, and concrete chunks at them.

A protestor threw a large firework at officers, but no one was injured.

Police issued dispersal orders and moved the crowd out of the area making eight arrests for assault and obstruction.

Bellevue Police Department provided additional bicycle officers for this event through a mutual aid request.

In regards to any amnesty bullshit....he's gauging the reaction to see how hard he can press the governors in regards to the riots. This is not about ET working the farms. In fact it's to his benefit if he does get rid of them because the farms these people are working at are not mom and pop joints plowing the back 40 with a little more than they should have to make a little extra cash at harvest time. These are the middle to big farms owned by corporations.

Because they're rich, dummy.

Hey Packs, can you gib blessings upon my house? 🙏📿

I wanna see the "No Kings" protests in Morocco. And Thailand.
Funny thing. Here is Hawaii they re-titled the protest to "No American Kings"
Why?
Because it coincides with the King Kamehameha Day parade that terminates at the nearby 'Iolani Palace, which is just around the corner from the State Capitol.
Here's hoping that the memo doesn't reach the either libshits or the low-info sovereignty groups, so a bunch of angry Waianae mokes and braddahs cross paths with a bunch of haoles with "No Kings" signs.
You will hear me loling from halfway across the Pacific if it does.

You can tell when the spics are in because they're all over Wal-Mart and Food 4 Less and WinCo.
Its quite the experience to try to go to walmart when there is five or six school buses sitting in the parking lot. I remember the first time I tried that and it was insane. I'm on the east coast to, so this isn't just a commiefornia problem.

US debt currently sits at 36,970,208,000,000 (at the time of typing this). Right now, it would take 7,394,041.9 people to pay off that debt via this card. That figure is roughly ten times smaller than the growth of people in the US since 1993, and about 19 times smaller than the growth of the population since 1965. Mind you lots of those new people are migrants, legal or otherwise, and usually non-white, and therefore a drain on the system. Getting people to pay to become Americans before they ever set foot in America is actually one of the smartest moves any president has ever made.

America is attempting to deal with a multi pronged attack on its existence. One that requires a mobilization of government, civil society and the ranks of the citizens. Doing this necessarily requires nuance. Especially since America as a country is massive and continent spanning. Full of people who would sooner tell someone giving orders to fuck off rather then do what they are told.

You see Trump using nuance and say he's selling out. What I see is someone who finally understands the difference between being a CEO and being a King. A CEO can do whatever he wants with his property. A King however cannot do shit without the apparatus of the State and the allegiance of the People. It's such an immense order of social organization its no wonder that many Kings ended up stuffed marionnetes controlled by court officials who actually knew what they were doing and did it "in the name of the King".

The crisis facing the American Nation now however is so grave that we can no longer rely on court officials. We NEED a King. And Trump has had the audacity to take the crown and the American People in their desperation have agreed to put that crown on his head.

Which is why this weekends "No Kings" protests are rather prescient. Because Trump IS a King. He is our King. The King of the Americans. Who we empowered as citizens to defend our nation.

For all his faults (and he has MANY), Trump was the only fully paid in member of the American Elite who chose to side with the Americans and go for the Crown. Every other American Elite and Servant politician not only denies the existence of the Crown of America, they deny the existence of the American people.

Trump found the Crown of America in the gutter. May god have mercy on him, he took it up in his own hands. A crown so powerful and so fickle it has killed every man to wear it.

We as Americans must place our trust in someone who is willing to fight for us, and we cannot let ourselves be demoralized further. The invasion and subversion of our nation has progressed too far. We have to stand on something, and more importantly we have to stand behind someone.

Better the man who took the slings and arrows for the throne.
Finally... someone understands. The perfect is the enemy of the good. Trump gets that. His job is not enviable. Taking the 'crown' as he has nearly cost him his life, and with leftists still rampaging, still might. He put it on anyway despite the risks.

He is trying to run a nation, not a buisness, a nation. It requires a strong hand at times and a soft hand at others. The current system can only use the mallet. Trump is the only one TRYING to get us to have the GOOD ENDING with minimal pain.

Biden was the system incarnate. Cold. Unfeeling. Gave you a sense of fear and despair. Nothing more than a machine. Trump on the other hand has taken the reigns of the beast, and is forcing it to yield to not just his will, but the people's.

What is happening with the farm workers requires tact. It's not a Civ V game. These are still people that keep the food supply running. He has to balance this carefully.

Because that’s a permanent residency permit, not citizenship. If they become citizens, they’ll have to pay taxes.

Don't want to share too much, but I have knowledge from someone who work with government documents that at least one office that handles tax assessments has supposedly been firebombed. Given the nature of everything going on, I have a hard time believing it was a random act of violence.

I'm pretty sure if literally any location in the US was bombed, it'd be headline news, so we'll see if anything's reported in the coming minutes. Don't see anything on twitter yet.

The article specifically says this applies to citizens too

If the gold card program does wind up providing tax exemptions for recipients on income earned outside of the U.S., it would also create a two-tiered system where gold card holders enjoy a more privileged level of citizenship than natural-born Americans, who are subject to tax on such income.

Or, more people realizing that the average citizen isn't going out in the fields to pick crops

You're not wrong but my grandkids pay like $10 a quart to pick their own blueberries at the bogie u-pick. If we have to have them to pick our food, can't they pay us somehow?

Fun fact: 50% of your produce doesn't aktually come from the US. They'll never tell you about that part tho.

Trump is just being normal, Trump can't go infront of the press and declare TCD like some people want. Trump is currently negotiating trade/tariffs with China, he has to atleast show some positivity towards the Chinese. It is a basic Trump tactic, Trump is willing to "humble" himself to get what he wants, just like how he personally prepares a seat for a foreign leader. The US isn't China where someones reputation is more important than their own wellbeing and countries prosperity. Western virtues about being humble and what not.

tl;dr The situation is a repeat of the event seen below:
