All of his arguments are strange. High performance servers are inexpensive, fiber connections are common, and DDoS attacks aren't difficult to mitigate (particularly if you're able to operate in the open unlike Kiwifarms).
I would wager any competent sysadmin could host a wiki with 100x the traffic XCreeper receives on a pile of eBay gear.

But really... We all know why he makes these arguments. It's to protect his fiefdom.

Started out the same way here. I didn't outright hate troons until I interacted with them and experienced first hand how they treated people they disagreed with.
TMI all you want but at some point years ago I was "questioning" my sexuality/gender let's just say (which luckily didn't go much further than that, you could say I was groomed by them in a way as I was sort of younger), joined some tranny circles and that's when it all came crashing down. Without going into specifics, worst thing I saw was group efforts by a few select individuals to cancel people within a community I was part of who didn't agree with their agenda or said some innocuous shit in the past like some racial slur in a private chat. Literally weaponizing cancel culture against them, accusing them of being pedophiles and getting them kicked out of the communities they were well established and respected in. That's when I decided I had enough and promptly removed myself from those shitholes and implemented a 0 tolerance policy myself
More MATI ahead but they're so envious and hateful of people they deem superior to them, enough to ruin their reputation by slander instead of manning the fuck up and raising above them. It sickens me to the core and it's something that needs to be exposed. It's why I don't take "cancel culture" seriously nowadays. 9/10 it's some BPD tranny wanting to take down someone who's infinitely more talented than them by making up false allegations.

I don't hang out with any IRL but I do know a few "based" trannies that I like talking to online. They're into HRT and all that stuff but they don't take themselves seriously, won't sperg out if you misgender them, actually put a lot of effort into their appearence and even shit on some of the more disgusting unflattering AGP trannies you often see on here.

Point of this reply is that trannies are nothing but trouble in all but very few cases and you shouldn't ever interact with them or put yourself in a position in which you're expected to

Not the old trannies, who kept to themselves and didn't want trouble. There's been an explosion of this population in the last few decades due to active recruiting and peer manipulation. These new troons are Marxist fascists and, along with lots of other nasties, are terraforming the world for their benefit and are openly looking for trouble. They intend either to take control of all social institutions or destroy the holdouts. Anyone who isn't a comrade or a simp is a fascist and deserves everything they get.

There's no backing down to this. It's an existential conflict. Win or die. But no one wants to be in front.

Rehosting old wikis has also been a very common thing recently because of how shitty Fandom wikis have gotten. The justification for doing it is "You can't "own" knowledge over a video game". But the legal reasoning is almost all of them are based on Creative Commons.

The only thing limiting their use is mainly Google's algorithm prioritize Fandom links. So if someone wants to create a splinter wiki they'd need to do a lot to get it prioritized in Google's algorithm.

Originally TCRF was essentially just a blog documenting cut elements from NES games. The owner handed the keys to Xkeeper because he wanted to expand the site into a wiki. XKeeper was almost certainly not a tranny yet, this occurred in 2009. So at that time there was really no reason to not trust him. Social media was in it's infancy and trannies were more like a sideshow you associated with burlesque performances.

If I had to guess the original owner had no intention of spending time expanding the website. When he saw this socially awkward user who promised to expand it he went "Sure, here". And he did a reasonably fine job of running it until this year.

I suspect a lot of people will try to move to Hidden Palace's wiki and likely migrate content over to it. Hidden Palace is actually well known in the retro game preservation community. If HP was smart they'd just stay out of this drama and not comment on it.

That's not true. There's no automated systems on their end to scrape from TV Tropes, as that would violate the Creative Commons license they chose. TV Tropes pulled a legal switcheroo back in July 2012 and changed their content license from CC-BY-SA to CC-BY-NC-SA, without notifying anyone. All The Tropes' staff doesn't want to deal with the legal headache that would entail, so they only accept original, reworded or license-compatible content (like text from Wikipedia). They do host content originally from TV Tropes, but they took that from a June 2012 web scrape, before the license change.

So All The Tropes is at a huge disadvantage, compared to a decade's worth of new TV Tropes pages, and users can't just copy-paste what they want from TV Tropes, since All The Tropes doesn't allow that, leading to much less community interaction. That's part of the reason All The Tropes is stagnating (their Automod queue filter doesn't help either).

This page (Archive) is a broad strokes retelling of a lot of the early backstory. There's a "Board2" mentioned in there, but it's glossed over and I'm told information for it is missing. This site (Archive) allegedly fixes some of the information holes.

Not entirely 100% related, but this bit (archived) involving a user known as "MegaMario" is one interesting read.

My contact had a scraper deliberately designed to scrape every 2s or so. The entire point was to scrape without being totally parasitic. Of course, because Workman doesn't look at anything other than his network viewer (and puts some hentai in the corner of the screen for "motivation") it got manually IP blocked like 5 or so times and the useragent blacklisted. Ways around it were found but it was just a war of attrition at this point.
