You forget that the F-15 is an American plane and thus hard physical limits like "max takeoff weight" are mere suggestions a sufficiently determined and demented group of persons can easily circumvent.

I read a lot of book by and about Americans (and others) who actually did amazing shit, and I've been thinking this since this whole payload debate started. American military engineers tend to overengineer the hell out of things, so long as the budget and timeline allows, is my takeaway. Naturally, there have been exceptions, but the trend holds together pretty well. The -15 is a solid airframe that has done some really cool shit. I'm sure there's potential for more cool shit in upgraded versions. ASAT test launches were pretty wild.

We really have had some fucking amazing people in this country, who wouldn't have been so fucking amazing if they had been born anything but American.

And now it feels like 90%+ of Americans couldn't give a shit about any of it...

It depends. Kamala might've pleased the older Dems by going to war for Israel, but she could've also chosen the younger Dems and Palestine. It was 50/50, as opposed to Trump who has blood ties to Jews thanks to his marriage deals between them and his kids; Trump is more likely to hand Israel a blank check as opposed to Kamala, where at least half the Democrats want nothing to do with Israel, whereas the conservatives that hate Israel are a nonentity in the Republican party, much less Trump's circle where conservative Jews like Stephen Miller are helping shape national policy.

Sure, Miller's main focus is illegals, but when Israel is attacked, you can bet your ass he'll be championing the cause of Israel in front of Trump.
