Besides Trump possibly getting us involved, Iran has threatened to retaliate against the US for allowing Israel to bomb them, Marco Rubio has made a statement urging Iran to not attack US forces and allow Americans in the region to escape unharmed. So it isn't completely irrelevant to US politics, especially when we supply Israel with their weapons they are using against Iran right now. It's pretty big news for the US actually. Like it or not, we are tied to Israel and their actions.

What you don't understand is I, and many other Americans, hate America too, because its priority is to fund, arm and support Israel, not America and Americans. Iran would be doing us a favor by nuking us, at least we could start over. Israel will take as much as they can and then leave us with brown subhumanoids who will finish us off so we're dead anyway.
