At least eight people were killed and several others injured in a school shooting Tuesday in the southern Austrian city of Graz, local media reported.

Austria's interior ministry confirming that several people had been killed at a Graz school.

A police operation was underway at the BORG Dreierschützengasse school, a secondary school located in the northwest of the city, Austrian police said in a series of posts on X.

The police added that several emergency services, tactical units and a helicopter had been deployed to the area. “The situation is secure. No further danger is expected,” it said in a post on X.

Police spokesman Fritz Grundnig told Austrian public broadcaster ORF that police had evacuated the building after gunshots were heard.

Those injured included students and teachers, who were taken to the nearby Helmut List Hall events space for emergency care, according to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.

A meeting point was set up for the students’ parents at the ASKÖ football stadium, the police said.

It was not immediately clear whether the suspected perpetrator was among those injured.

The Austrian interior ministry did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for
comment.

Where is the claim that he's Albanian coming from?
I assume Non-Europeans mixing up countries.

His mother is Austrian, his father Armenian.

Arthur A.: This is the Mass Shooter from Graz
June 11, 2025, 13:45 | Updated: June 12, 2025, 06:08

This is Arthur A. – the mass shooter from Graz who cruelly took the lives of 10 people.

He was 21 years old, a school dropout, and most recently registered with the AMS (Austrian Public Employment Service). According to his résumé, which oe24 has obtained, the high school dropout began an apprenticeship as an office clerk at a furnishing and installation company after attending a BORG (a type of secondary school in Austria).

During this time, he attended a vocational school in Feldbach, apparently lost his job in March 2024, and tried to complete the apprenticeship through AMS courses. Before attending the BORG, he went to a vocational school for economic professions run by Caritas in Graz, and prior to that, a new middle school (NMS) in Hartberg.

Arthur A. – in his WhatsApp profile picture, he appears with his cat, with unkempt long hair, a childishly narrow face, and a piercing gaze – came from the Graz area. He still lived with his brother and mother and reportedly felt like a victim of bullying at school. It was at that school, the BORG in Graz, that Arthur A. shot and killed ten people before turning the weapon on himself. One of the victims, a girl, is said to have lived directly above him in their multi-family apartment building in Kalsdorf – as reported by several local media outlets. A terrible suspicion arises: Was she his intended target, and did the massacre follow a targeted killing? Answers may come from the analysis of his farewell letter and goodbye video addressed to his mother.

This is where Arthur A. lived:

A nation in mourning
Around 10 a.m., Arthur A. opened fire at the Graz school. He mainly targeted students and teachers on the third floor of the building. Graz remains in shock from the horrific bloodshed, Austria mourns the victims, and the world watches with horror and sympathy.

What else we know about Arthur A.

Arthur A.'s mother, who raised him alone, is an Austrian citizen. His father is originally from Armenia. The parents were separated. Over 100 people have been questioned so far to gain further insight into the perpetrator’s motive. The analysis of secured evidence and data carriers is expected to continue over the coming weeks. The police have increased security measures around schools. The Federal Police Directorate has ordered increased outreach to educational institutions and stepped-up patrolling of these areas.

Further information

Supposedly, the Video and Letter recovered mention no reason or motivation.

Very interesting: literally didn't qualify for the military due to a failed psych exam. There's a compulsory year for men in Austria, it's either military or social services (EMT, etc) yet if you choose the latter you get an automatic ban on owning guns for 15 years.

Since data is so restricted and protected in Austria, the Military didn't forward his failed psych eval so he was legally allowed to buy guns and get his weapon certification.

Declared Unfit for Military Service Due to Psychological Reasons

It is noteworthy that the shooter was declared unfit for military service due to psychological reasons during his medical examination for the Austrian Armed Forces. This was confirmed by military spokesperson Michael Bauer to *Der Standard*. He also confirmed that, due to data protection laws in Austria, there is no exchange of such information between civilian authorities. This means: when someone applies for a firearm license, this crucial information from the military is not included in the decision-making process.

By comparison: individuals who perform civilian service are legally prohibited from purchasing a weapon for 15 years. However, there are exceptions here as well. Hunters, members of shooting clubs, and sport shooters can be granted exemptions from this weapons ban by the respective state police directorates.

Another relevant aspect: many young men are declared unfit for military service due to psychological issues. Among the approximately 37,000 individuals subject to conscription born in 2005 (the most recent cohort listed by Statistics Austria), 11,400 were identified with psychological and behavioral disorders.

Even more than 48 hours after the school shooting in Graz, there are still no concrete clues regarding a motive. During a house search, investigators found both a farewell letter and a farewell video. According to Lohnegger, both contained an apology to the family for the crime and a general expression of thanks, but provided no insight into the “why.” Allegedly, the young man only personally knew one of his victims: a teacher. Aside from failing and subsequently dropping out of school, there were “no particular issues” at the school, according to police.

Who resisted the cultural decimation that Bosnian and Albanian cucks didn't. They wouldn't be the tallest race in the world if they had turk genes. Albanians are short like Turks.
These retards will never understand, they sit in their shitty american apartments talking for the whole world about race when they themselves are a mexican/jewish mutt hybrid.

Maybe the Austrians will now understand that the gun laws in America are not really the reason why people can kill children in schools without problems.
nvm
[0:00–0:07]
The legal basis for gun ownership in Austria is the Weapons Act of 1996.

[0:08–0:17]
There are three categories:

  • Category A includes prohibited weapons, such as machine guns, pump-action shotguns, silencers, and war materials.
  • Category B includes handguns up to 60 cm in length and semi-automatic firearms.
  • Category C includes all remaining firearms — rifles and shotguns, which are also the most common hunting weapons.

[0:18–0:45]
According to the Ministry of the Interior, as of June 1, 2025, there were 1.5 million firearms legally owned by 374,000 individuals registered in Austria's central weapons registry.
Firearm possession is prohibited for children and adolescents under 18.

Reported by Chedomira Schlapper.
In the studio: Legal expert Eva Erlacher — welcome! You're a hunter and firearms owner, and you teach on this topic at the university.

[1:04–1:24]
Q: Which firearms are the easiest to acquire in Austria?
A: Category C firearms — classic hunting weapons like shotguns or bolt-action rifles.
You can purchase these from age 18, provided you're not subject to a weapons ban.
They must be registered in the central weapons registry.
With a weapons possession card, you can also legally keep other weapons at home.

[1:25–2:01]
Q: Should Austria tighten its weapons laws following recent tragic events?
A: It makes sense to evaluate the law after such incidents — out of respect for the victims and to see if the law could help prevent future tragedies.
But we must keep in mind: any tightening of the law usually affects law-abiding gun owners.
Those who commit acts like the recent rampage clearly don’t follow laws.

[2:02–2:22]
Q: Graz’s mayor suggested no private gun ownership for a more peaceful society. Your view?
A: It’s an admirable idea and understandable after such incidents.
But a general ban on weapons in public isn't effective, because:

  1. We must define what counts as a "weapon".
  2. Criminals don’t follow laws, so a ban likely won’t stop crimes.

[2:23–3:01]
Q: Should we raise the minimum age for gun ownership?
A: Category C firearms are allowed from age 18.
But for a weapons possession card (for Category B weapons like pistols), the age is already 21.
So yes, there’s already an age distinction.

[3:02–4:15]
Q: Should we raise the age even further?
A: That’s a difficult debate.
At 18, you're legally an adult in Austria.
You can do many things — so why not own a firearm?
It’s a question of maturity and responsibility.

[4:16–5:00]
Q: Is there a limit to how many weapons someone can own?
A: Depends on the category:

  • Category C: No legal limit — you can own many firearms.
  • Category B: Your weapons possession card states how many you're allowed — usually two.
You can request to raise this limit, but you’ll need a justification (e.g., sport shooter).

Thank you, Ms. Erlacher, for joining us today.

You can just ask the psychologist that's interviewing to let you fail. He was after failing the physical stopped being an option. Basically bring up some childhood trauma and that you are pursuing education and it's a free pass.
That's why the rate of failing is so high.

I'll create a post that combines all the information into one for easier navigation. Note: A lot of these accounts were discovered by redditors at r/masskillers (1, 2, 3, 4)

Serbs are the niggers of that general area of Yurop. Literally nobody likes them, for a reason. Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia are all better than fucking Serbia, geographically and people-wise. Caping for Serbs is crazy shit.

Anyway, on topic: the kid moves and looks like a total autistic sperg. Those tiny hands and empty-eyed stare... Autists should be put down for the sake of the rest of us. Disgusting zoomer tranny piece of shit.

My point was more along the lines that it wasn't passed on. If choosing social services gets you an automatic ban, failing the military psych test should lead to the same outcome. That it wasn't passed on because of shittily phrased privacy laws is fucking ridiculous and might have cost 10 people their life. (Of course there's different rules regarding hunting, hobby shooting, etc.)

I see the young men here in the cities, I'm not the least bit surprised at the percentage that fails either physical or psychological. Be it by design or not. For the best perhaps. Let's just be glad the country is neutral and leave it at that

I saw a picture of this young man and I immediately thought about a sibling of mine. He's a nice kid he just has his problems and he crashes out a bit.

Be sure to check in with your friends and family, make sure they're doing okay. Some of these people just need someone to give a fuck, I think.

Leaving guns out of the equation - suppose this kid was put in one of these programs (without access to guns). Would the structure/social environment have helped to solve his underlying psychological issues?
