Canada is a failed state

We arguably were before covid. It was still better to live in Canada pre-covid, than it was to live in, lets say Mexico, Spain, Bali, Vietnam, etc.

Why I say that is because the 9 million Indians that were suddenly dropped into the population during the pandemic is the catalyst for 2nd or 3rd world status.

I think Canada was a failing first world nation prior to Covid, an underdeveloped economy, overleveraged in various areas, with major real estate and hiring problems (but still a 1st world nation);

but for comparison- its reached the point where I unironically have a better standard of living in the 2nd world, than I do in Canada. I have faster doctor visits, my money goes further, my groceries go further, my rent is cheaper, etc. Even for the locals, they have better quality of life. Literally the average person in Indonesia of all places have better quality of life, and something to look forward to- their states seem to be progressing, not regressing. My salary isn't even that much higher than the average local's, but I'd literally rather live where I live because- well frankly I couldn't even afford the rent in my hometown in Canada anymore even if I tried.

Unless you are a boomer or one of the chosen techies (and even then your quality of life is decreasing), its literally easier to exist in the 2nd world at this point, than it is to exist in Canada.

The saddest part to me is seeing this happen within the span of essentially a decade. Life in 09, 10', the early 2010s wasn't so bad. Even up to the mid 2010s Canada was pretty chill, if rigged in some ways. Now? You're faster to get MAID or your dick chopped off than an MRI scan.
It's true. Your life is better in semi developed countries. Simple math of more opportunity and flexible, under leveraged economy.

I’ve spent far more effort finding my last job in Canada in 2023 rather than actually doing it. That’s why I hate IT industry in the west so much - most of the times the HR don’t even have a clue on whom they actually need to hire.
Most HR requirements for IT positions in Canada these days are set to filter out whites and give cover to bring in visa jeets and flips.

The 100 calls asking if I'd work in Fort MacMurray for $21 per hour are clear eveidence of that.

(For those unaware, Fort Mac is pretty much a gold rush town, a living wage there is probably around $60 per hour.)

This is done through a combination of programs targeting "newcomers" and "students" at the provincial level. Employers get around 3000 a month from hiring newcomers.

Thanks, and that's not also mentioning generally the LMIA is "sold" to the employee so that money is also distributed to recruiter/employer to cover salary (CBC report)

About housing, a requirement is for the employer to provide affordable housing to employee's

For the purpose of the TFWP, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation definitions are used to determine the suitability and affordability of housing:

  • suitable housing: doesn't require any major repairs, according to residents. Major repairs include those to defective plumbing or electrical wiring, or structural repairs to walls, floors or ceilings
  • affordable housing: costs less than 30% of the TFW's before-tax income. Shelter costs include, rent (or mortgage payment) and any payments for electricity, fuel, water and other municipal services
We may ask for proof (for example, newspaper ads) that affordable housing is available.
Wonder why you cannot find a reasonable house? Well a business that has a few employees can buy a house and have every room is "rented out" to up to 30% of the TFWP salary to cover the mortgage.

There's a reason why the UN compares it to slavery even more upsetting when you realize taxpayers are funding it. Then federal ministers turn around and gaslight young people saying they don't want jobs (CERB train right) or low paying jobs to justify the mass expansion of TFW.

Look at https://lmiamap.ca/ and boycott businesses.

I just wanna afford a house, man
Have you considered the wise words of a certain mullah?

Good old leftist infighting. Probably a nothing burger but it would be funny if THIS out of all things is what destroyed Carney.
fell_for_it_again_award.jpg

I don't think this will hurt Carney at all though, because the die-hard pro-Palestine demographic is either voting NDP, or is going to vote Liberal regardless of how much abuse they take because the Tories are LITERAL FACISTS!!11

And yet until about a year and a half ago, a family member who's a Med. Imaging tech was on 'full-time part-time' so that the hospital didn't have to give him bennies. Nothing will get fixed because the money shoveled into healthcare gets eaten up by a staggering number of middle managers (apparently we have the same quatity of them as Germany does with 1/3rd of their population) and nobody will speak out because they've been psyopped into defending our system at all costs. "At least my healthcare is free!" says the guy dying on a gurney while paying 35k a year in taxes.

Especially hilarious because this comes a few days after Carney alongside Macron and Steir made a big show about sanctioning a pair of Israeli ultranationalists. Sure shut up quickly and went back to toeing the line.

Could also see it wrecking Carney, assuming we get a response equal to the pro-Palestine campus occupation protests from last year. He won't know how to handle them in a way which doesn't force a retreat into Trudeau-esque woke messaging - messaging that runs counter to the whole reason boomers voted for the guy.

Thats the other part. Tried to make it work in Canada with a major insurance company. Somewhere down the line places stopped actually hiring and this is what they constantly do.

For major corporations, youre often a contracted employee or subcontracted employee (ie with an agency), where you don't have benefits, you don't have job security, and youre always on a '3 month contract' or '5 month contract' where at the end, if theres a downturn, if there's downsizing in the company, if theres a recession- youre done.

I can remember working in one of these places for a year +, and one of my coworkers, who was a young guy, had a kid along the way.

He wanted to know if his contract would be renewed, and 'we can't comment, were not legally allowed to' was the answer. There was a high chance it would be, but that kind of uncertainty? Its what drove me from the industry in the end, and him as well. When I was looking at other firms, it was all much of the same process.

You do have people being hired outright at certain firms, you do have start ups that hire people directly as well, but for most of the entry level positions in the big companies, its all contracting/subcontracting and the 'full time, part time' kind of thing.

Bear in mind that this was in like, 2017 or 2018. I can only see that its gotten worse in a lot of industries, and theres barely any foot in the door positions that aren't like this

A lot of doomposting so let me add to the doom. Are there any solutions, other then leave the country or endure whatever uncertainty happens next?
My goal for as long as I can remember has been to just own some property and have a normal family. Seemed perfectly achievable even ten years ago.

I'm at a point in my life where I feel this is the last opportunity I have to make a major pivot, and I'm torn. All my friends since childhood are here, established, own property, they tell me it's foolish to go anywhere, just nose to the grinder and hope for the best. Unlike them though, I had some severe issues for the first ten years of my adult life that made me start the rat race late, I didn't manage to grab property before the average price of a home became over a million dollars, and working a residential construction job, I likely will never afford one at this rate. Same thing with my goals, the vast majority of women I've known or talk to aren't marriage material if I'm being honest, to the point where none of the decent women any of my close friends managed to find have any female friends of their own they could recommend.

Every year there's less work, if houses aren't being sold, then no new ones are being built despite there being a housing crisis. One of our three brigades just got fired because there's simply nothing to do, we've spent most of spring without any work whatsoever.
My neighbourhood is getting browner, I forgot when was the last time I've seen a single white person in any pizza, fast food place or anywhere you'd usually find highschool/college students try to earn an income. Since I've had nothing to do for months on end I've applied for other jobs including warehouse, security and forklift work but haven't received any responses at all besides one that offered me a severely gimped wage at another location the next town over. Last I heard from one of my family friends, their son works as delivery driver out of desperation and noticed absolutely every single security guard in every condo is an Indian. An entire line of work outsourced to an imported race. Then I had a younger friend tell me how happy he was that he gets to grandfather an old rent lease since the rent prices would be 40% lower than what they currently are. Not a house, not property, a rent agreement. His situation is much bleaker than mine, I do not understand how people younger than me get by.

In many ways the writing is on the wall, I'm of the opinion that it won't get any better anytime soon, it's only going to get much worse. I don't see a future or any way of achieving what I want out of life here. Yet I also cannot imagine uprooting myself and leaving all I know, and everyone I know to leave for an more uncertain future. I don't even know if moving is a viable option for an unskilled labourer. Where would you even go?
My gut is telling me there's no hope and the future is bleak and it's time to pack up and leave, yet everyone I know personally tells me my gut is wrong and just endure, everything will magically sort itself out, I'll be a family man with a cozy house in no time just give it another indeterminate amount of years. I'm completely lost as to what to do and frankly demoralized to hell and back.

Are there any solutions, other then leave the country or endure whatever uncertainty happens next?
In all seriousness canada is in a terminal death spiral and is not going to recover, if your post isn't made up I would suggest moving you are in a prime position to do so compared to someone who is already settled

Carney will go around telling the unenlightened masses that a male arm being rammed up to the elbow into another man’s anus is “love," and also the upmost important example of Canadian values.
Carney is nothing if not prophetic in his retardation: https://xcancel.com/WSOnlineNews/status/1931052605050085558

Also in Canadian news is the bill C-2:
• The bill allows police to open your mail — without a search warrant.
• It lets police contact any Internet-based company, to get all of your account details including your name, address, online nicknames and other invasive details — without a search warrant.
• And it even makes it a crime to do transactions above $10,000 using cash.
