The problem with that is de-escalation and "peace" seems to mean total capitulation. Which is unpalatable to them for obvious reasons. We will eventually run out of the political will to keep pushing resources there and Iran will then "win" as our apathy again takes over.
Total capitulation to what? Again, this line of logic only makes sense if you're a crazy fundamentalist.
For the vast majority of Westerners and Israelis, there is no desire to see Iran destroyed, or occupied, or forced to not become Muslim anymore, or anything like that. Sure, there are exceptions, like crazy boomers in congress or that sect of Jews that want to see the whole middle east under Israeli control. But they represent the minority view.
The majority of people just want Iran to stop trying to destroy Israel and the West and to stop funding terrorist groups. That's not capitulation, it's "stop fucking causing us problems retard."
It's only capitulating if you're goal is to seek the destruction of the west/Israel/America, which is a crazy view only held by fundamentalists.
As happened in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, etc.

FFS Iraq, which is arguably the most comparable to Iran, is still under US military occupation, and Sadam is fucking dead. You really think that's a desirable outcome for Iran? Get absolutely slaughtered in a conventional war (twice lmao), get the leadership deposed and killed, and eventually see US troops leave at some point in the undetermined future?
Not that any of those are even really comparable to the conflict with Iran, since it isn't a conventional war with boots on the ground.
