It's subjective but I don't think the old games were ugly. Graphically inferior compared to today, sure, but not ugly. Old Xbox, Dreamcast and Mega Drive games looked aesthetically interesting, a lot more than today and a lot more compared what technology is/was available.Sounds funny. I guess they could argue the games didn't look good, I mean it's retarded but I guess zoomer graphics whore retards exist. But the games were anything but boring and we're literally built with replayability in mind more than most games today. Some games were simple, but games now aren't exactly complicated either, just bloated.
Good point. Microsoft were so close to dominating the market with the idea of the X/S but then fucked up by forcing parity on the consoles. If Series S was limited to 1080p and kept it cheap, then Microsoft would have nailed it.Who's the market for premium consoles? Anyone that cares about FPS and graphics is going to be on a PC. A 300 dollar console that plays games at 1080p60 is good enough for a normie audience.
My biggest criticism of Sony this gen is that they could have owned the VR industry and built upon for the next 2-3 decades without competition. Instead, they tried to force their way into markets they didn't understand, or belong to, or had any interest in, at the cost of losing their main player base.Yep. As much as I like the Playstation 5, I've had my fair share of criticisms regarding the way Sony has handled themselves this generation. It's much like how the Left deals with criticism as a whole. Playstation fanboys simply can NOT get that dick out of their mouths.
Ryan greenlit those projects because he knew there would be a delay to proper games due to covid. He greenlit an array of GaaS games as a stop-gap, including Twisted Metal and TLoU:Factions. Hulst cancelled both of them that fans wanted and put serious money and advertising into Concord. It's weird because Ryan and Hulst are two sides of the same coin, with Ryan being the one to greenlight 90% of the absolute garbage currently happening,
The worst post you'll ever read.
Series S/X was a good idea at the core, even if Microsoft didn't realise it. With price increases of hardware, especially on the high end, being able to offer a 1080p machine for £299 would have swept up, with the option of customers to then mop up.Series S/X was a good idea. VR is the future. GaaS is easier and quicker to make than single-player. The cancelled Twisted Metal game was gonna be great. Oh, and then just flat out lying about DG2 (pitch rejected internally at Bend, no PS execs involved.) You really have some wild opinions.
By virtue of using inside out tracking, it cannot be the best headset ever made, hands downVR2 is the best headset ever made, hands down
my nigga if you wish to make a joke make it funny pls.VR is the future.
I'll concede on personal choice, but the VR2 wins for me because it's light-weight, comfortable and those controllers are mint.By virtue of using inside out tracking, it cannot be the best headset ever made, hands down
They were going to get out of the cars, it was gonna suck. You're wrong about the rest too but on this one I want to add context.Series S/X was a good idea at the core, even if Microsoft didn't realise it. With price increases of hardware, especially on the high end, being able to offer a 1080p machine for £299 would have swept up, with the option of customers to then mop up.
Be it in this life-cycle, or the next, VR has a future. You may not like to play that way, but many do. VR2 is the best headset ever made, hands down and that it's been abandoned is an indictment of sony's retardation.
TM is always great. Show me a car combat arena game in the modern era. The game could have been woke as fuck but it still would have been different, and therefor, worth playing.
DG2 was pitched internally and the studio wanted to do it. The studio heads smiled and nodded to agree with the execs to save their studio.
Isn’t that exactly what they did? A $299 (or less depending on retailer) system that targets 1080p but can go higher? Their mistake was raising the price years after launch instead of capitalizing on every other console being too expensive.Series S/X was a good idea at the core, even if Microsoft didn't realise it. They forced 4k and RT on it. They tried to make it more powerful than it was or should have been. Parity ruined it.Isn’t that exactly what they did? And what would it even play? Xbox One games? They already had a machine that did that. A console with no library is no console at all. They forced 4k and RT on it. They tried to make it more powerful than it was or should have been. Parity ruined it.
It should have always been marketed as a 1080p machine, not a 4k one and it should have been a different design to the X, as the Series S was about the same power of a 1X.
What does that mean, “forced”? Games weren’t forced to be 4K or have raytracing, and it was generally marketed as a 1440p machine while the Series X was for the hardcore 4K crowd. Unless you’re saying it should have been incapable of pushing 4K or having games that use raytracing, which is just insane. They forced 4k and RT on it. They tried to make it more powerful than it was or should have been. Parity ruined it.

Yeah, I don't think old games look bad until you go back to 2nd gen, and even then, while obviously technically bad looking, are today quaint and charming. Like 2nd gen, a lot of people don't appreciate 5th gen graphics at all. I can see why even if I disagree, but 6th gen still looks good, I don't care what anyone says. You can't look at Wind Waker or Final Fantasy X and say it looks bad. It's subjective but I don't think the old games were ugly. Graphically inferior compared to today, sure, but not ugly. New Rule: Every utterance of "Live Service" gets changed to "We want to remove your property rights" or "We suck Klaus Schwab's undoubtedly tiny and circumcized kike penis".
4th gen (N64, PS1, etc.) is ugly too, the price we paid for 3D.Yeah, I don't think old games look bad until you go back to 2nd gen, and even then, while obviously technically bad looking, are today quaint and charming. And at the very least we didn't get an entire generation of woke, samey looking & playing games like the last 10ish years now. And only Nintendo has had many worthwhile exclusives.
I used to think VR2 was a waste of money since for a similar price you could buy a Meta Quest 3 (better in basically every way outside of OLED displays, eye tracking and headstrap) but since they recently dropped the price, it's a pretty good buy. Prior to that, the only reason why someone would buy a VR2 would be because they already have a PS5 and not a PC or because they really hate Facebook and they're too broke for an Index. At this point the PSVR2 is a better PC headset than a PS5 headset due to the price raise of the PS5. Forget exclusive software, now they don't even have exclusive hardware!VR2 is the only good thing left at Playstation.
Could they? PSVR1 was a good entry point but my god did the tracking suck. Took so long with PSVR2 that as of now, Oculus' basically taken over with Quest and most PCVR users don't care that it's on PC, they just spend thousands on stuff like the Bigscreen Beyond 2, or they stick to their Valve Index's. Most issues with the PSVR2 is less so things they directly did to it moreso things that are wrong with PlayStation as a whole (basically, no games), and that doesn't help with how much the Quest 2 & Index took over the VR space.they could have owned the VR industry and built upon for the next 2-3 decades without competition.
What playerbase did they have? A bunch of Gran Turismo players? I never really saw anyone with a PSVR2.Instead, they tried to force their way into markets they didn't understand, or belong to, or had any interest in, at the cost of losing their main player base.
lmao. Not the Index (people who bought that in 2019 are still winning), not the Bigscreen Beyond, not even the Quest for ease of use, but apparently the VR2 is best. sure.VR2 is the best headset ever made, hands down
Not only is the PS4 still used, they still manufacture and sell them new. People still buy them. They're nuts even talking about a PS6 right now with the dumpster fire of PS5 still burning.I hope PS6 releases ASAP. Not because I'm interested, but I wanna see it flop hard. PS4 is still used, ain't no way that without good exclusives they're selling that shit.
4th gen is the SNES4th gen (N64, PS1, etc.) is ugly too, the price we paid for 3D.
Maybe on average, but there's a lot of standout games that looked fine:4th gen (N64, PS1, etc.) is ugly too, the price we paid for 3D.
Yeah, it's hard to believe but I'm glad they're doing it. PS6 for 2026, babyNot only is the PS4 still used, they still manufacture and sell them new. People still buy them. They're nuts even talking about a PS6 right now with the dumpster fire of PS5 still burning.
