Serious question, what is the average Israeli attitude to serving in the military? I know national service is compulsory except for the most extreme Jews, but otherwise?

In the UK, national service is mentioned now and again in reference to Russia, but the public attitude is fuck off. Who would even be eligible? Fat fucks, people with disabilities both real and imaginary, fake autists, the lost goes on. All those browns we let in certainly aren't going to help. Anyone who could serve won't because life generally fucking sucks, everything is too expensive, taxes keep going up, things just get worse. Second, if the F-35 was truly that fucking good, why are we selling it to everyone that can pony up the money and is on somewhat friendly terms with us at the moment?

I mean the export version of the F-35 is nerfed in key ways that allow our versions to be tactically superior on every level, we're exporting them heavily so we can fund our domestic production enough to mass produce them in a way that we couldn't with the F-22. To your point, I agree that the F-22 is still the premier air superiority asset in our arsenal, but the f-35 is pretty damn close and we have a whole lot more of them.
