if you get a high quality source for the old nuke asplosions they look just as good as modern HD, the tests were filmed at a very high frame rate with very high quality cameras anyway. dunno about the equipment used to film hiroshima and nagasaki from trailing bombers. problem is the stuff on youtube etc. is taken from TV broadcasts or other lower res versions the government released while keeping the high quality versions behind top secret restrictions
