As for using US bases, while the Arab countries can and have repeatedly looked the other way whenever an Israeli fighter squadron has crossed their airspace to attack Iranian and Iranian proxy targets, they wouldn't stomach Israelis using bases on their territories to attack another muslim country for fear of the massive backlash they'd face from their populations for helping the Jews. It's the same reason why they've publicly criticized Israel for crippling Hamas while being perfectly happy that the Israelis are destroying an Iranian proxy behind the scenes.

True, true. I suppose my theory is contingent on the US covering up their involvement. Who'd determine whether planes/drones/personnel belonged to Israel or America, and whether the US would let Iraq or Kuwait know about strikes being initiated from their territory? I prefaced it with "call me a conspiracy theorist" because of how much conjecture this relies on and how schizo you could go with it.

I can believe Israel snuck these things into Iran, I just imagine it'd be easier to initiate strikes from friendly bases instead. We'll only know all the nitty gritty details years from now, if that, or if ever.

It's reasonable to think that, especially since the US government was clearly forewarned and most likely approved of the operation. It's also less schizo of a position than just assuming that Israel is completely ineffective without US support simply because we send them a large aid package that's basically just us giving them a coupon to buy US weapons systems.
