I'm just wondering. A lot of MAGA people were saying, that under Trump, no wars would happen.
The "no new wars" plank was a larger part of his 2016 campaign then his 2024 campaign which was more a referendum on the Biden economic recovery and immigration
He himself said that. He said that he would end the war in Ukraine. We are 6 months into his tenure, an so far
Yes he's failed to end the war in Ukraine, if you voted for him to end hostilities in Ukraine as a single issue voter you can be big mad now. I don't think many people like that exist.
- A conflict between India and Pakistan
I don't think anyone thought Trump would deliver world peace by the June of his first year
- A conflict between Israel and Iran
I believe this has more to due with 10/7 spinning up Israel's armed forces then it has anything to do with Trump. The fact that troops aren't committed now most would see as a small victory. Ideally about half the right would want no funding for Israel and the other half of the right sees Israel as the US's greatest ally. His popularity would nosedive with a hot war with Iran.
Currently the US us playing referee, but like crooked nba referee and the war is a regular season game and Israel is Lebron.
I dont think its optically losing him support, even with the "Zion Don" anti israel contigent of the right.
Theyre gonna hate israel and believe trump is drinking jew jew cum again, but that doesnt mean theyre more likely to vote (D) in the midterms or start supporting a 2nd Harris campaign.
- Fuck all done to war in Ukraine
There is a debate over pulling funding, secdef Hegseth has been upfront about drastic cuts to the funding just this week. Rhetorically that's what MAGA wanted in the first place so trump's favorables on Ukraine aren't taking a hit
Also major civil unrest in America, 2nd time during his presidency.
Everyone expected that if Trump got a second term. Since the unrest consists of "leftists that say fuck having laws and borders and shit" this is only increasing his approval rating, particularly with independants (if those even exist anymore) and naturalized Latinos.
The DNC is rolling out optics so bad that civil unrest is rallying people to trump's cause. I think the rollback on farms/hotel raids is the first optical error Trump has made, I'll be interested to see new polling numbers Tuesday.
Trump is setting a retarded precedent that the closer to big business's bottom line you are and the longer you have skirted the law, the better your outcomes. It's a handwaive for long time scofflaws both in the ownership class and the actual workers. Also maybe most Americans can empathize with "I don't really want to pick fruit or pay more for it" but certainly you can't make the "no one wants to work at a hotel" arguement when fast food minimum wage jobs exist.
Is everyone treating Trump like a joke?
No?
No one is taking him seriously?
There are protests this weekend over the nebulous idea that Trump is now a king because he won the popular vote for once. I think people are hyperbolic about him on the left as much as the evangelists that photoshop Jesus hugging Trump are hyperbolic about him on the right.
Trump is a big and boisterous political entity and he brings that out in his supporters and his political opponents. When Trump makes a statement I doubt many on the right are expecting a 1:1 outcome.
Tldr he hasn't cucked himself out of his 2nd honeymoon yet.
