May as well jut say Rus' to keep it neutral if you're going for this ahistorical nomenclature.
Russia, Ukraine and where is Belarus?
It was as much part of Old Rus as Ukraine/Russia.

To be fair of all the Slavic nations Belarus is probably the most forgettable. I think more people know something about Slovenia than fucking Belarus.

People will only care about Belarus if/when it becomes the next Ukraine (Unlikely since Lukaschenko has no issues presently). If it does happen, the same hagiography surrounding Ukraine will pop up to make some ahistorical bullshit to justify nationhood.

Do Ukrainian nationalist even considered the Romanovs theirs? Wouldn't they identify some local Cossack noblemen family to be the true lost royalty of Ukraine?
I have never seen a ukranian nationalist consider Romanovs to be theirs, seeing as the Romanovs tried to destroy the culture and language of the country.
Heck, some of them in the middle of the first world war would rather have taken in a habsburg to become the new king.
Btw, this guy history is so damn faschinating.
the book "The Red Prince" by Timothy Snyder is a trip.

Lukaschenko will not be around forever and there is potential for even bigger shitshow than Ukrainian one.

Anyway back to the topic.
Closest thing to modern day Ukrainian monarch is this guy.
He briefly ran the show in Ukraine during WW1 .

Old Britannia released his video on WW1 — 3 hours long.

A very solid and well-researched video, though quite 'Anglo-centric' in some of its assessments. Which is fine since it's expected given where he's from, along with how much the historical narratives surrounding the First World War were shaped by mythological assumptions fostered by ministries during and after the conflict. Not to say it's your bargain bin standard retelling, far from it. Quite a gem compared to the other videos on the subject, however, as one of those WWI autists who knows more than he should about the starting act of Europe's shattering. I did find myself adding on some big asterisks during certain parts of my viewing within my own head.

Still, a great thing to link somebody who wants a good starting point or refresher on the events, people, etc, leading up to 1914. The second part will probably be quality as well. Though he might want to recheck his audio a bit more than usual for that next video, since there were parts where things cut out in this one. Makes sense given it's three hours, but they did break the 'flow' a few times.

He's also made most of his channel focusing on England and it's foreign policy back in the day, so it's understandable why it's anglo focused.

I didn't go into the video expecting its main focus to be a big dispelling of myths and whatnot to get a 'REAL' view on events. Just his Lancastrian run-through of how things transpired. And it succeeds in that goal. Gives a lot more nuanced perspective on things than recaps made not even a decade ago. So that's always good to see. Especially about Austria in general, now that people are seeing it more than the common misconception would have it be portrayed.

His video on the Habsburgs during the Napoleonic Wars is a good one as well. Finally, allocating some deserved credit to it. Archduke Charles, in my opinion, should take Wellington's spot in reverence, but that's just me.

Lazer Pig we have a thread on him.
After looking into the thread, I remember him. I watched his series on why the Russian Navy sucked and I stopped when he mentioned having a boyfriend. I noticed that the faggot was very Anti-Russian though, like even more so than you'd expect. I'm surprised I didn't find his thread earlier.

When I was writing the thread, me and the collaborators struggled to try to get through his videos. At least 60% of the time in the videos are just pointless filler about him being insufferably gay. Plus a good chunk of information is either exaggerated, missing the point of design, or just flat out wrong.

Also the surface fleet of Russia has always been not great. The real talent are those in the submarine fleet
