Hello Kiwi Farms. I, your humble Mr. Manchester, has done on the ground journalism for you.
Today I went to the great city of Chicago to go to a Cubs game. Of course this was also No Kings Day, where the left would attempt to recreate the summer of love. As I walked the streets of the prettiest city in the world here are the things I have observed.
1. The police have created walls of bicycles around the 200 or so old ladies and manlets with signs.
2. Protest energy was extremely low. Most people in the city just ignored them and went to eat at nice restaurants. This includes me.
3. The Cubs are superior to the White Sox because they have a lot of cute girls that go to the game. Going to Wrigleyville is worth it just to sit in one of the smaller bars and watch cute girls walk by. Cubs beat Pirates 2 - 1. Kind of a boring game. The park charges 14 god damn dollars for a beer.
4. Black people have completely fucked off from the protests. The black people in the city were just doing normal things and none of them were in the tiny group of protesters there. They're obviously pissed about illegals fucking up their neighborhoods.
5. People are very polite on the L (subway). I've ridden on trains in Tokyo and people in Chicago largely act the same way. Sit, be quiet, give up your seats for the elderly. One black person politely asked the train car for money, another black person gave him a dollar.
6. Holy shit the men actively protesting were straight up soyjacks. The reason that meme is so powerful is because it's so incredibly accurate. I was with my small elderly father and he towered over them. I didn't think they existed and were so accurate to the depictions online.
7. The women protesters were all FAT.
Long story short, black people don't give a shit about ICE. In fact I think they support it and Brandon Johnson likes his city nice and profitable. Next time you see him talking about equity or whatever know that the other side of his mouth is telling the police to keep order. Best mayor the city has had in a long time.
