Iran wasn't really a huge threat to the Jews. Sure both sides were posturing but Iran is far weaker then Israel and poses no real threat besides a nuclear one but the Jews have been "managing" (ie: Mosad kills anyone who attempts to help Iran develop nuke tech in any way. That poor Swedish bastard's family) and it's been working for decades. Keeping Iran's nuclear processes crude and slow and mostly fictional.

So why provoke a fight? And why now when Gaza is draining away most of the IDF resources and Israel's funds?

We know Netanyahu is not doing well in the polls and is in real trouble both politically and legally once he leave office so is this just a gambit to prop him up with the faith that Daddy US will come rescue them if shit goes south for the Jews? AIPAC has been spending a lot lately so I guess we now know why.

My personal opinion is that this is all a desperate attempt by Netanyahu to save his own ass, thousands dead be damned. Iran and most of the middle east has tried to conquer Israel for decades. Arab Israeli war, 6 day war, war of attrition, yom kippur war, Lebanon war, and the countless Palestine & Hezbollah wars.
They've failed every time and if I was Israel and they were close to the bomb I would try and stop that as well. Iran is very open about the intentions it has.

I think you're underestimating just how many missiles and bombs the US has at its disposal. Besides, "just dig them out" is a days-long process. It's not just dust in the desert. I think that is correct, the U.S is low on modern munitions as most stockpiled weapons were for systems in use during the first gulf war. That is why most modern U.S. weapons have the ability to fire both new and old munitions, it's to ease the pain of having a lot of old bullets, artillery rounds, missiles, etc and newer weapon platforms while the new replaces the old.

I’m pretty sure I disagree almost entirely with catch a rainbow and other israelis in this thread about the geopolitics of all this and what America’s relationship with israel or even the jewish community at large should be.

However he is one of the most consistent posters in this thread with actual updates and providing sources letting me individually consider their bias so I just wanted to say that the people reporting him are extremely gay and actively eroding the usefulness of this thread. The endless personal arguements are as well to a slightly lesser extent. The ukraine war threads weren’t even this bad in this way.

More that the fancy shit is for the first few weeks and after that any old dumb bomb will do. US Doctrine isn't to level a country with stand off munitions and cruise missiles. Its to destroy the countries air defense capability from beyond the ability of the country to defend itself within the opening stages, and then spend the rest of war bombing the shit out of it with dumb munitions. So in the first week you see cruise missiles, stealth bombers and over the horizon JDAMS, and after that you see B-52's (an aircraft designed at the end of World War 2) show up and drop thousands of dumb bombs.
