I wouldn't be surprised if this claim in particular was a straight up lie. For Israeli interests it can sow discontent and get people paranoid with each other (assuming Netanyahu's words to the Iranian people about changing the government weren't just to make the strikes appear noble), for Iranian ones it can justify further oppression in the interest of national security and whatnot.
I think there's a nostalgia for Catholicism in America motivated primarily by aesthetic and tradition, and because it feels distinctly European as opposed to Protestantism which feels more "American" when what they really want is a emphasis on white identity which is represented moreso by Europe mentally. Pinning the wholesale blame on one group/individual/race with no consideration of all the accepted factors is a common practice since people take shortcuts mentally to help make a complex issue simpler and easy to understand: it's called being a cognitive miser.
These contemporary (often online sometimes in real life) Catholics can often display as much disloyalty to their country as can be attributed to Jews, the only real limiting factor to their influence is that the Jews have more big money (in America) and having broader institutional presence (in America) giving them disproportionate representation.
Sure, they tend to be vocally opposed to certain things (homosexuality/gay marriage) and promote others (family units), but their idolisation of the faith is often very pick and choosy depending on the individual. Furthermore, through its very premise, you place more individual value on a foreign institution and authority (The Vatican/Pope) than you do your own — like the Jews and Israel in essence. And the Catholics who dismiss the sayings of the Pope are, in effect, just LARPing Protestants who aren't attached to a particular denomination or Church. They're not educated enough on the subject clearly to just call themselves Sedevacantists, which is more of a mouthful but they'll still accept the legitimacy of the current Pope whilst ignoring everything he says. So if you're a Catholic who thinks immigrants and Muslims ought to stay out, you're speaking in opposition to a Papacy that has regularly called for openness and acceptance of those groups since 2013 at the very least, pretty much captured by the concept of Liberation theology.
Admittedly I feel some personal besmirchment towards Catholics because when they reside in a largely Protestant country, they tend to idolise another country and people instead of their own. Instead of British Empire LARPing, they're prefer to LARP as Austria-Hungary instead, that sort of thing. Catholic Brits I've encountered are very often entitled; I recall a particular youtuber getting mad and calling for the abolition of the monarchy (even though said monarch can't do anything to stop things in effect) because the government voted on passing the UK equivalent of Canada's MAID, but I digress.
Regarding the Jewish question, there is an undeniable overrepresentation of Jews in almost all sectors of American society. Ideologically, if you can pin Leftism and subsequent concepts of social justice on Marx, and the various divergent schools of epistemology, theory and philosophy on him, then you can in turn blame a lot of shit on the Jews due to what he put out the world. The Spartacists, many Bolsheviks, Critical Theorists, Pro-migration folk, anti-nationalists, can (often) share the common attribute of Judaism. The big point of contention is that these lot often weren't doing their shit in Israel, so an Israeli Jew being offended for the colloquial Jew often means playing defence for non-Israeli Jews who were culturally in-line with the rest of their country but often with the asterisk of never fully divorcing themselves from their Jewish half. They'll espouse Leftist talking points about how race isn't real and the occasional "white people bad", but identity will all of a sudden matter when it comes to the topic of their ethnicity and religion.
However Marx was inspired by Hegel, and he in turn by Kant, so I'm just as inclined to blame contemporary Leftism on the Germans as I would the Jews. Fucking seriously, the whole "we don't need to know something is real to know it's real for certain" did irreparable damage — it's why we have trannies! Still, Jews in higher education school were probably inclined towards the ideas and philosophies proffered by their fellow Jews (Kant -> Hegel -> Marx was Germans building on Germans so it's not atypical) which is why they often (outside of Israel itself) are some shade of Leftist Marxist (who thinks Israel shouldn't exist at all, alongside any other state really) or Zionist. The only real Jew I know of note in history who wasn't either of these things was British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, who was born ethnically Jewish but was a strong Christian throughout most of his life did nothing to advance the cause of Zionism or Judaism as far as I know, just more of the Empire.
It all ties back to people preferring simpler and easier explanations of shit in order to make it all coherent and easy to follow in their mind, when in reality you can pin any number of influences and origins of thought on all sorts of people. Even the Catholics who I lambasted a moment ago can't be described universally as being such, and I never even made mention of Latino Catholics, South American Catholics, and so on, who have in turn been influenced locally by schools of thought that have travelled to them the world over.

Rationalism/Scepticism/Empiricism -> Kant [in counter to Hume] creates Transcendental idealism proffers that things exist independently of our senses I.E. our subjective interpretation of something leads to differing ideas on the same thing even though it exists in real space -> Hegel found this too nebulous roots morality from culture, history and other institutions but still argued in the same impersonal sense that morality existed independently of the individual and had to be "woken" within them (Self-realising spirit) -> Marx, like Hegel did Kant, agreed in broad strokes but disagreed on minutia, asserting morality was dictated by those capable of affecting change on those people as a means of domination, maybe using pre-existing morals as a means of controlling those who adhered to them, only altering morals based on what'd satisfy their materialism.
From there you can get to critical theory, post-structuralism, sexology, critical-feminist/post-colonial/queer theory and many more not mentioned. But even in all those there's a bunch of individual and ethnic faults you can pin on differing religions and ethnicities.
Sexology: An Anglican Englishman (met Marx's daughter, and he himself influenced Freud) and a German Jew, pioneering transgenderism (psychology > biology)
Critical Theory: German Jew basing work on Kant (German), Freud (Ukranian-heritage, Czech-born, German-speaking Jew), under the tutelage of a German (who was in turn influenced by another Czech Jew)
Communism/Marxism: German-born Jew and a German Calvinist who both resided in England
Post-Structuralism: France (Not even an asterisk to this one)
Queer Theory: Chicano (Hispanic born in Texas, basically) and American Jews (Born in America)
