The biggest drug marketplace right now, Archetyp Market, has been seized and it's administrator arrested, by German Authorities. It has been dubbed "Operation Deep Sentinel", and had some gay cartoon made for it.

No crack stream guys. :(

Get fucked lmao.

How does Europol de-anonymize these services? Do they just leave ToR nodes up long enough to collect enough traffic statistics to make an educated guess?
Sometimes they attack the server (maybe even the target's client or associates via social engineering,) or use side channel attacks such as looking at timing/size of traffic. Also 'doxing' the user, looking up their accounts and trying to find clearnet equivalents they can chase.

I don't know about this particular instance but once upon a time they used a Tor exploit that targeted people who had Javascript enabled: https://hacker10.com/internet-anonymity/tor-service-operator-arrested-malware-inserted-in-tor-sites/
Once again proving you should not use javascript over tor...
I remember Germany not allowing forced key disclosure as it would violate their right against self-incrimination. Wouldn't this mean the admin either voluntarily gave up his keys or got caught with unlocked keys?
Well, it was at the request of the Germans from the Spanish. I 100% expect it to come out the Gendarme rubberhosed the keys out of him, and the autistic Jerries would say "Well technically it wasn't us".
That or he used a biometric authentication, which is expressly NOT protected in most jursidictions (good luck proving they didn't just lift fingerprints and recreate a finger instead forcing your thumb on the unlocker).

The Albanian selling Chinese THC vape pens outside my local high school remains unbothered.
Speaking of TOR happenings, I remember hearing some months ago that some CP websites got taken down because some admins were too interconnected between sites and fell for phishing, and the perpetrators left some spooky message about how all pedos would be doxxed then they went bragging about it on YouTube. I wonder what came of that.

They already do, both Germany and Spain have recently legalized cannabis. When your country produces nothing and your population is demoralized why not profit off their drug addiction. The european new economic model is potheads, gooners and prostitutes
They legalized it in a really half-hearted way that's basically the "worst of both worlds", though. You can grow your own but you can't buy or sell it. It's not legal in the same way alcohol is, where you can just buy it in a shop instead of having to ferment/distill it yourself. The only places where that's the case (I know of) are Canada and the US.

I strongly suspect this model of legalization is going to fall flat on its face simply because most people aren't going to be bothered becoming horticulturalists to get high. Think of how the average person is so lazy that they hire an illegal Somali migrant on an e-bike through Deliveroo instead of going out to a restaurant to eat, and then remember we're talking about an especially lazy subsection of society.

Apparently Germany and Spain did want to go as far as North America and legalize sales as well, but couldn't because of some obscure EU directive. Kind of ironic that the shitlib love for the EU has backfired on them here. Maybe in the UK, weed dispensaries will be an unintended silver lining of Brexit in the future?

That "cartoon" was the corniest shit I've seen all week. Imagine if they did something like this for taking down child porn sites.
Get used to it. The ability to make videos on the fly cheaply via AI for shit posting goes both ways.

Wait till the copyright corps get it in their head they can start mass producing "you wouldn't steal a car" videos and inserting them into streaming services.

Notice how the video focused only on the apprehension of the admins. These busts seldom if ever focus on the dealers or buyers, unless their knockoff pharma fentanyl concoctions keep killing people. With good opsec there was never a risk using Silkroad, Pandora, Black Market Reloaded, or any other of the hundreds of reputable contraband markets. Especially for the dealers as it's much easier for them to remain anonymous.

t: Though I've been out of this game for ~10 years there was a time where I was involved to the tune of having a dozen or so BTC in wallets that I no longer have access info for.... I'm sad when I think about that now.

Hey Europe, you might want to focus more on rape gangs and mass stabbings instead of a darknet market.
Drug dealers deserve a cell. Don't forget how many people's lives these creeps destroy. They aren't rag-tag heros just because their business is illegal.

They are like any other big tech firm; cynical and greedy. They don't care about the effect of their business on society; only that it grows and pulls in more profits. Only, in the case of these darknet markets, the products directly kill their customers.

Anyone that has ever had to live in an area rocked by drugs understands this.
