It is cheap, easy to order in bulk, arrives quickly, can sit with no refrigeration for a day or more and still be edible, its pre-portioned so people can choose their meal size, its filling, its very easy to accomodate dietary preferences, leftovers are easy to hand out, no utensils are needed, it can be eaten at a desk with minimal mess.
Most pizza places will also sell salad and wings, and will deliver pop with your order.
