On the one hand, they hate borders, but on the other, they hate free trade; a lot of American socialists hate NAFTA and its effects on the American working class, so I was surprised to see few leftists supporting Trump's tariff plans when they were screaming for the same shit years ago. Socialists, and not just your typical Starbucks-swilling hippies, but ACTUAL socialists who are part of the working class, despise all these free trade deals and want tariffs to stem the tide of cheap, foreign goods.
