Not directly related but there are rumors that China agreed to a resupply for Pakistan (to support Iran?) and mobilized reserve units in the Western Military Command.
Pakistan is on the outs with Iran. They are very seldom friends with unresolved border disputes. Resupplying Pakistan means giving Pakistan the means to stand against Iran, which is important deescalation for a nuclear power and a near-nuclear power.

I get the impression that barring some quasi official mosques and tomb pilgrimages, Shia Islam in Iran is now relatively weak with small mosques closing. State Religion means the regime and religion is inextricably connected, tho there would be under reported factions among the clergy.

Iran went Shia to try to overthow the Ottoman sultan. The Iranian form of Shia, the one the Ayatollah is from, is basically revolutionary where the Sunni and other apostate forms must be overthrown and the correct order of Caliphate succession recognized to properly acknowledge Ali as Mohammed's rightful successor. The root is that their brand of Shia, HQ'ed in Iran, must be the global form of Islam. And naturally all humanity must be brought under Islamic rule.
To adhere to Iranian state Islam is to forcibly hitch yourself to global holy war at some level; the heretics and apostates must be made to reform. Given the global response to post-revolution Iran, this has morphed into a Iran vs the world sort of mentality. So its not that Islam is dying so much as people are growing tired of pointless holy war as their economy crumbles around them. Not going to Friday Prayers is an act of protest against the state not necessarily a lack of faith. Taking this as "Iranians tossing off Islam" is braindead banana-in-asshole levels of atheiod cope.
Additionlly, alot of the smaller mosques were frequented by Iraqi Shia who would leave Sunni-ruled Iraq. Now that Iraq has shucked the Baathists, the Shia are mostly in control so there is less need to come to Iran.
GBU-28 is bunker busting, and can be carried by an F-15 (in IDF inventory).
Maybe I am seriously misunderstanding how hardened Fordow is if you absolutely need GBU-57s to take it out.
EDIT: I just checked, and IDF already had GBU-28s in inventory, so I guess if Israel hasn't hit the place yet, it isn't enough bang.
@draggs covered it. You are misunderstanding how deep and hard (giggity) Fordow is to hit.
Fordow is under 250-300 feet of solid rock plus however much steel-reinforced concrete they used building it. idk how many GBU-27s, -28s, -72s, BLU-109s etc. it would take to blast through that but it'd have to be many dozens. Maybe more. Even a GBU-57 idk I don't think it would be a drop 2-3 and call it a day thing
tl;dr: A GBU-57 even if it didn't penetrate the complex would render it, and the senstive equipment inside, no longer strategically useful to Iran. If there are any people directly under the impact point, unless Iran semismicly isolated the complex (and they might have) they will have their insides liquified by the presure wave even if the facility doesn't have completely crumble.
Any basalt vault will be cracked and potentially catastrophically compromised.
The complex will have a very localized earth quake and while it might be salvagable it will take months to years to get it back into shape.
It is extremely likely if the site is hit we will get some brand new horror stories of "Survivors trapped 500m under ground, unable to be rescured and taking two months for the last survivor to slowly starve and suffocate to death" and the rescue crews that eventually make it to recover the corpses being sworn to take the evidence of cannibalism to their own graves.
