The problem with these kinds of statistics is that when people are surveyed for this kind of thing they will typically give what they perceive as the popular opinion rather than their actual opinion. Most of the people that claim to approve of interracial relationships would turn around and have an absolute shit fit if their son/daughter/sister/brother/cousin brought an actual whitey/brown home. Tolerance is mostly for show and the fact that upwards of 90% of people are naturally inclined to date within their own race makes it an issue most people rarely actually have to deal with and thus be honest about, because it's easy to say you're tolerant of something that you know you'll never have to really be confronted with.
