keeps happening.

Shillup have sacrificed 4 days to play 'Death Stranding 2' so he can drool over the bug eye lady (spoiler free first hands on shill impressions right here)

Well, I was going to buy it, but I will never waste my money on a game with that bald, bug-eyed sheboon. Guess I'll just read the plot on the wiki.

Skillup will have a rare moment of lucidity and take a giant shit on Dragon Age Veilguard and then go right back to having the worst taste in videogames I've ever seen.

What always gets me about this is that Kojima managed to come out of DS1 with his overall rep relatively intact. Like, plenty of people don’t like death stranding, but they still regard Kojima highly, just making a game that fundamentally wasn’t for them.

he was still at the point where he could have posted almost anything as his new game and it would have sold. But he didn’t make another new ip with its own identity as a second path to go forward - he went back to his first round and tried to do it again. The one game that wouldn’t be protected from the misstep reputation damage of Death Stranding… is Death Stranding 2.

I actually really enjoyed the first game for the most part. Post apocalyptic mailman simulator is a great idea. DS 1's major failing is that it didn't lean hard enough into the challenge and was far too static for its own good. DS2 seems to be changing that somewhat hopefully, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

That the media keeps sucking Kojima's dick doesn't mean the general population isn't indiferent at best to his spergery. It's steam db numbers are shit with it's peak not even hitting 7K. The game was a flop in every metric except media attention considering this was supposed to be Kojima unshackled. The Kojima diehards will be suckered again by DS2 but I expect a tepid release at best unless word of mouth is shining.

I just hope they severely nerf or remove ziplines and roads. You can ignore them mostly in ds1 but the timed deliveries basically require them and its lame.

The Cult of Kojima is bleeding acolytes, buoyed only by repetitive youtubers making hour-long retrospectives about the ending to MGS2 being the highest plateau of fiction. Despite my own extreme hesitation to buy any game above 60 dollars, MGS Delta is likely going to outsell DS1 and 2 combined. Lel. DS was such a flop that Koji had to bring in "not-Solid Snake" for the sequel just to bait clicks from people via similar imagery. To quote the A.I. Colonel, "That's proof of his incompetence right there". Gotta stick to what you know I guess, i.e. ripping off hollywood movies.

I expect very poor sales. DS1 benefited hugely from no one knowing what the fuck kind of game it was going to be so a lot of normies who wouldn't have otherwise bought peepeepoopoo UPS simulator ended up buying it thinking it would be Metal Gear.

Now everyone knows this will be a walking simulator with an extremely pretentious and nonsensical plot.

That’s what I meant two quotes up.

There’s still a cadre of people who’d check out “a new ip by Hideo Kojima” just because it’s hideo kojima, even if that group took some hits after Death Stranding. But by making his next game death stranding 2, those people who’d still give him the benefit of the doubt haven’t got the leeway to interpret the project as whatever they want it to be. No, it’ll be a sequel to a game that meets the very definition of Plodding.

The only buys DS2 will get is from diehard Kojima fans and the small group who genuinely loved DS1. His reputation won’t carry the casuals Kojima fans into checking out his newest project like they used to.

It'll sell like wet dogshit like the first one did and maybe break even in a year or two with another director's cut. All these stories out saying he intentionally made it shitty because testers liked it is even more self sucking than he's done before.

Delta is going to sell more than DS1 in it's full lifecycle in a week. So poetic Konami is going to push his shit in with Fukushima's baby. As time goes on, it's becoming clearer Kojima had little to do with the magic of MGS beyond a broad outline and nothing to do with the fun and witty writing. Kinda like how George Lucas had little to do with Empire beyond the outline and key script lines.

The "writing" in DS1 is the most japanesey, bug person interactions I've ever seen in anything. It's just dumbfounding why this closet case still has such a massive ballwashing cult behind him when it's common knowledge he's a hack fraud that hates his english audience, specifically americans.

Gotta say I did like the traversal element in Death Stranding 1. It and Deep Rock Galactic are the only two games I know of where the terrain is as much a threat as any enemy.
