The religious nutjobs came to power complaining that the Shah's reign made the upper class of Iran rich while everyone else lived in squalor. Decades of rule by mullahs have left the entirety of Iran poor save for the top religious class. Hence why there's no legitimacy in Iran.

At least the North Koreans worship a man as a god, and they're honest about that.
The Iran-Iraq war is very interesting. WW1 in the desert. Trenches, gas, you name it. The mullahs used heavy religious rhetoric about brave mudjahideen. What with Saddam's Ba'ath regime being Arab Socialists and all. Two guesses as to what two countries backed Saddam and helped his chemical weapons program

North Korea has more stable leadership and government than SK albeit due to the Kim family's regime, but nonetheless stable and consistent.
Kim also enjoys luxury and expense. I get the impression you could have a good time with him in Vegas.

Khamenei? No such persona. The ayatollah was given every opportunity to turn Iran into a booming economy and power like Turkey if they just gave up their nukes. Any rational and pragmatic leader would have accepted. The Russo-Ukraine war proves that you don't need nuclear weapons to give a much larger power a military deterrent for invasion. But no, Khamenei wanted to continue his suicidal mission of achieving a bomb at the expense of giving himself and his people a better life.

I don't understand why people expected a better outcome when you are negotiating with jihadists. Its like trying to reason with Osama.
Agreed. Kim at least has a thought process and is still Asian at the end of the day. He can be reasonable. How can you reason with Muslim cultists that want nukes at all costs in spite of all reason? You can't. And Trump has given them insane leeway.

We let them hit one of our military bases for fucks sake at the start of 2020. Trump let it go for the sake of peace. They have gotten worse since then. Kim on the other hand has mostly kept to his little part of the world.

At most we'll probably Tomahawk some building or three, and a B2 out of Diego Garcia will drop a bunker buster on some lab. No boots on the ground.

Israel will bitch that Trump is using kid gloves, the Dems will suddenly parrot them after two years of calling them genocidal nazis, we'll get some asshat in Congress (either a Rino or whichever female Dem wants to be Newsom's VP) accusing Trump of being too weak to go all in on regime change. Lindsey Graham will be pissed and probably start ranting about outlawing abortion nationwide in a desperate revenge ploy to hurt the midterms.

And in a month we'll all be talking about some retard celebrity bitching about white men not wanting to watch Invisible Woman girlboss her way into killing Galactus or whatever stupid shit.
You know what? You're probably right, if I had to guess, honestly. I really don't think Trump will act without restraint.

My main concern though, is what consequences this will have for elections down the road. Trump was elected (at least in part) because he wasn't a warmonger the first time around. If that changes this term, it will have potentially disastrous consequences for the mid-terms, (The dems are already likely going to retake the house, the question is by how much.) and will likely have a negative effect on JD Vance's chances in the 2028 election.

We really don't want the progs back in power, and defending Israeli interests isn't worth risking that.

Bibi will be crying into a mic talking about how Iran is "just 6 months away from having nuclear bombs" again before long. According to him, Iran has been inches away from having WMD's since the 1990's.
Who the fuck is "Bibi"? I keep seeing that annoying name brought up but Google just says it's a Worst Korean singer.

I mean getting a "gun type" uranium atom bomb like little boy isn't "hard" if your entire nation dedicates its brainpower and resources to it. The US accomplished it in 1945. It will need a delivery vehicle, which Iran had. The F-4 Phantom alone could carry 18,000 pounds and was nuclear capable in US and NATO service. Iran had over 60. Really the hard part is enriching the uranium in the first place.

Stupid war ethics and shit. USA would have won if we could just agent orange the entire jungle of those buck toothed dipshits. Essentially, the USA allowed them to win.
This is the reason why the West can never defeat a counterinsurgency movement, because we had our hands tied behind our backs. The only way to win against an insurgency is to completely annihilate the enemy force and its leadership, just like the Russians did in Chechnya.

I hope Trump changes course on boots on the ground in Iran and admits he isn't in full control of his government; Neocon warhawks grandfathered into the government probably taking AIPAC money setting policy in the Administration.

Going back to domestics politics: The question isn't how much of the government Miller is running but how can we get him to be in charge of more?

I love how the Media's new strategy is to act like high school girls and try to spread rumors about members of Trump's cabinet in hopes these people will actually believe them. These outlets can't die fast enough.

Trump is an extremely extremely skilled negotiatior, like almost idiot savant levels of skill.
Did you think that what I said was meant to indicate that I think he's bad at foreign policy? I actually think he's rather good because he breaks norms while being unbluffable and unreadable at the same time. I don't think this is a result of his forward thinking of 11-d chess, it's more because he's chaotic and unpredictable. He's good at foreign policy in the same way Mr magoo is good at Parkour.

There's a reason Art Of The Deal is required reading in basically every business course ever. Trump has a lot of flaws but that's not one of them.
Not to be a dick but have you read art of the deal? Its more of a memoir than a how to guide.

I don't see how an anecdote about a debt ridden Trump telling his limo driver that the hobo he just saw "is worth 2 hundred million more than me" is something a business school needs you to know.

Now 20 years ago when I was in school it certainly wasn't required reading, maybe curriculums focus more on relationship building than the Perato Principle and Keyesnian economics these days, but I would be as suspect of a college business course making you read "the art of the deal" as I would of a college psych course making you read Dr. Phil's "We've got issues".

It's pop economics IMO.
