It is a source of conflict in the US. I think it is likely to very much be a US-only phenomenon for the most part since most other countries in the world are either all chopped for religious reasons, or they aren't and have no idea what a circumcision actually is.

There are a non-zero amount of legal settlements every year for complete amputation of the glans of an otherwise unremarkable male infant, directly attributable to the misuse of circumcision devices.

There is a nonzero chance of a lightning bolt striking your head and killing you when you step outside every morning. There is a much larger non-zero chance a drunk driver will plow into your car killing you driving home at night too. Will you avoid doing either thing? Of course not.
If you avoided every activity with a nonzero chance of calamity happening, you'd never get out of bed in the mornings.
