I really don't like that with a bunch of my favorite pirate sites down, I need to torrent videos more often to watch the best subs or any kind of dub. I also hate how wco paywalls movies and some OVAs.
9animetv.to seems to update things pretty fast. For example when I first looked into Akage no Anne, WCO only had the old washed out VHS version, whereas 9anime had the blu-rays which came out a few years ago.

How come you don't have a Hunter x Hunter thread? There's one in the "Inner circle", but that doesn't count.

One of my favourite animes, sadly I have not read the manga yet and I'm not hardcore into its deepest lore, much less for the new saga (the Kakin empire).

If someone makes one (who is more knowledgeable than me), it would be super interesting I think. Also, cannot go without mentioning the HxH boy! Bringing cool content about it somewhat regularly.

We barely have people talking about anime/manga in general and HxH rarely gets chapters so I don't think it would sustain a thread.
There is nothing stopping you from taking about it here and this isn't an image board where every micro topic needs a thread.

It's hard to get invested in anything that comes after the anime because it's 100% guaranteed that the author is going to die before that arc even approaches any kind of a satisfying payoff. Plus, the anime more or less wraps itself up very neatly if you don't care about the lore, and kurapika's side tangent with the eyes/spiders.

Current arc has interesting lore and intrigue, but the large amounts of expository dialogue and atrocious release schedule hurts what could end up very well being one of the best arcs.
Here is the hiatus chart

Rewatched the 1997 Berserk series over the past week.

And now I am finally reading the "Millennium Falcon" arc after taking a break from the Manga for a couple of years. Omg the Berserker armor is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Berserk is definitely a story that catches your attention immediately, but I can't quite recommend it to people IRL solely based on how disturbing it gets. It's one of those things that I can actually understand why people can find it upsetting to watch (and especially read). But it is a compelling and well-written story. Hopefully one of these days it'll be finished ...

EDIT: Okay, maybe I'm a bit of a liar. I recommended the 1997 anime to my brother to troll him. lol. His reaction to the biggest motherfucker of cliffhangers ever was priceless. Hey, that's how I was introduced to Berserk.

Never really got jojo to be honest. The first arc was great, Dio is such a bastard, but by the time it gets to stardust crusaders it's just too fucking weird man. Think the moment i got turned off completely was when i saw the episode was about a pedophile who could turn people into kids, chasing down one of the characters and a fetus. It's like if western animation was run by people who were completely unbound by things like censors.

> Show's name is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
> Complain it's too weird.

He was the villain and he got the shit beat out of him at the end for it. Sorry they didn't have a woodchipper Stand to shove him through, it still likely would've been censored in the anime.

I watched Samurai Flamenco, another of the anime that I was interested when it aired but never caught for whatever reason. It was funny but if I didn't know ahead of time that it got unhinged I would've been thrown off the experience. Chuckled through most of it, pretty okay. I wouldn't say it's good, but it's a lot more entertaining than most modern day anime.

That would be so sad, I heard that apparently there are several endings Togashi thought of, and one of them was to be put forward/assumed to be canon in the instance of him dying before it's completed.

Dude, getting caught off-guard by that episode was absolutely part of the experience, and knowing about that ahead of time is just cheating lol.

I know, but knowing that at some point it's happening without knowing when or how was a fun experience too. If I didn't have that in mind I would've spent the rest of the experience thinking too much about the wrong things, like the logic of it.

What's worse:
1. a series going on for so long it turns to shit and you lose all interest?
2. a series put on hiatus for so long you lose all hope of ever seeing a proper conclusion?
Definitely 1 for me. My Hero Academia shitting its brains out is why I will never trust a big shonen series to conclude satisfyingly again (save for Demon Slayer but that is the exception that proves the rule).
