Sony considering a purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery’s assets (streaming, studios/IPs and gaming).

This rumor is bullshit. There will be no talks between the companies until the WB splits in two companies happens next year. And talks would be with Sony internally at the highest level, shit that never leaks unless hacked.


With that said, Sony will be looking into buying Warner Bros Streaming & Studios company after the split happens and will be talking about it internally right now, 100% yes. They were interested in buying parts of Fox if the Disney deal fell apart and had a go for Paramount, so Warner Bros 100% makes sense for them with all its IP something Sony pictures lack and an already successful streaming service.


To give more details, WB is splitting into Streaming & Studios, which will have ips, HBO, HBO Max, DC, video games and some other stuff, all of which Sony would be after. While the other half is Global Networks, so CNN, TNT, Discovery+ and other channels, this business is where most of the current $30 billion debt will be offloaded to as well, and is the part Sony has no interest in (really no company looking to buy WB has an interest in this part which is why the split is happening) and is where Sony would have legal issues buying, due to foreign ownership laws over.

its shocking, I enjoy Destiny but hoping to get anything else out of Bungie at this point is a crapshoot, its not like Bungie is capable of making an epic exclusive live-service game for the PS5 like Sony seems to so badly want, Marathon is going to be a multi-plat but its also almost certain to be shit, the delay was probably the second-best case scenario for it but honestly I would have just cancelled it, it could have had a better chance as a singleplayer game like the original Marathon trilogy but no, Pete Parsons would rather chase PvP Games because Zoomers apparently will just play anything thats PvP automatically according to these execs

This graph has been trotted out on that faggot pro-sony site for the last two years, as an example of why the PS5 is doing so well. However, it's very, very dodgy number counting.
Operating income for the PS5 includes sales and PSN figures from the PS4 and PC and coutns them as PS5.
Any MTX purchased on PS4, all PSN+ subscriptions and entertainment purchased on a PS4 is calculated as a PS5 sale. Same with remakes and remasters.
As you can see in the bottom right-hand segment, the first two years of the PS5 life were highly successful, no doubt about it. Following that, once the launch exclusives dried up, the money takes a big hit. The third year Operating income is 2/3rds what it was the previous year and in the following years it never matches or exceeds the first two.
This is backwards to every other generation (you can see the evidence on this graph, though Sega, Nintendo and MS follow similar patterns), where the profit to start with is low, due to losses incurred by R+D of the console, followed by years of high profitability as more hardware and more software - in the forms of exclusives, are sold on the platform.

TL;DR - The Sony shills are banding this around as proof that the PS5 is doing great, but it's pure cope. The numbers are rigged, the drop off in income is apparent and should be ringing alarm bells.

Don't mistake this for me being bitter and hating Sony, it isn't. I just hate fucking sycophants who argue against logic and believe in the lies that their favourite [insert product] manufacturer tells them.

Probably because of how expensive modern gaming can be and inflation. If accounting for those factors I bet it's not quite as rosy as it looks. However, it's still much better than it has any right to be, though likely due to riding on their brand rather than doing anything well. Next gen will probably be a shitshow for Sony unless they play it smart. Hopefully anyway.

I think it's due to the fact as bad as Stagnation 5 is, the other two are measurably worse. It really is a dead industry, and this is the signal to console niggers to dump it and invest in a PC.
