I wouldn't have such vitriol toward the Mormon church if...
- They leaned into their esoteric, gnostic-adjacent cosmology with an anthropomorphic God
Its an important and central principal that God has a physical body, just like you and I, and that is part of us being made in His image. Joseph Smith includes it in the First Vision, the founding inciting event of our religion.
Mormons could lean heavily into bettering the lives of their poorest practitioners
There are many programs for members who are down on their luck or in hard times:
Bishops Storehouses are local pantries for those who need groceries or other housefold consumables
Rent assistance is something Bishops have available for those in their ward
There are many in person and online Addiction Recovery Programs available to members and nonmembers alike
The church has been tinkering with online schooling through BYU and BYUI, making school more accessible generally
There is an employment assistance program to help people find jobs and apply for them
These are just some of the specific things set up to help those in need in a ward, not including the personal service many members do for each other and those in the local community, members or not.
I frankly have no idea why Christians tolerate Mormons, or allow them to claim to be believers in Christ.
Many don't, much like yourself. I'm not sure how people come to the conclusion that they personally are the arbiters of who is Christian and who isn't, and how a Church centered and named after Christ cannot be a Christian church.
