Anyone know if Shamkhani is alive or dead or vegetative today? Mixed reports of recovery after the assasination wave and wondering what 'stable' might mean here. He seems to be the one that was making progress with a deal with the US until... he wasn't.

And your point was Bill Cooper never predicted anything right in accordance with his conspiracy theories. In reality he stated in june of 2001 that a major terror event would happen to the US and the Governement was going to blame Bin Laden for it.

Bill cooper was most famous for calling 9/11, which caused truthers to start reading the books he wrote in the 80s full of shit he professed to no longer believe.

It isn't that people cherry pick the good stuff with Cooper, it's that they glob onto a book Bill wrote 20 years before truthers found him and that negated the fact Cooper had spent years apologizing for his book in the 90s.

And when truthers discovered Bill, he wasn't there to provide context because he was shot in his driveway 55 days after 9/11 by the feds. For back taxes.

It is far more likely those numbers are some neocons fever-dream than any sort of reality. I think I'm officially a boomer to remember vividly the run up to 2003. Same shit, different day. That war was the start of the decline and this one will finish it off. It's depressing.

i don't think many people hold that view tbh, iranians are widely recognized as being some of the least hostile and least problematic among all the muslims. iranian immigrants in the west have a reputation for causing a lot less trouble than pretty much all other muslim groups.
their current regime on the other hand is the opposite, it's probably the most radical and fanatic islamist group that is in charge of an actual nation-state at the moment, moreso than even the afghan taliban - the taliban seem content with keeping their zealotry directed inward and contained within afghanistan, rather than play power games in the name of allah around the region like the iranian mullahs do.
