First of all Iran is very nationalistic country with a history dating back millennia. Not a Yugoslavia where a half a dozen nationalities have been forced together for a few decades at gunpoint.

Secondly: What are the odds of Iranians ganging up on other Iranians instead of gee idk… The invaders bombing them? If China bombed the US and then invaded, you think they’d be greeted as liberators even in California? Even in outright dictatorships like Nazi Germany and the USSR, the invaders weren’t exactly treated as liberators by more than a handful of people.

Thirdly: This is neocon lies, just like they lied about Iraq. Remember how “we’d be recieved as liberators”?

We established Iran can’t have a nuke, we’re already invested so we will have to send an expeditionary force! The hit to our prestige just by giving up will be too great, Mr. Trump!”

If the goal REALLY was to ensure Iran won’t have a nuke (something they’re years away from anyways) then we wouldn’t even be talking about bombing. Since what would prevent the Iranians from just digging a deeper installation next time, in the unlikely event that they take out Fordow?

Given that Iran went through a brutal EIGHT YEARS long war against Iraq without internal collapse, maybe the Iranians, whatever gripes they may or may not have with their regime, don’t want a bunch of kikes and Americans telling them what to do or how they should be governed?

Maybe the Jranians don’t think that they’re as oppressed as the neocons say they are, and have a feeling that things could easily get worse, even if they’re not enthusiastic about their current system?
