I think two things can be true at the same time: Trump involving the US military in the war is foolish, but being hysterical and saying they’ll be a ground invasion is also foolish. Realistically this action alone will barely effect the republicans at the midterms, you’d the surprised how short the average voter's attention spans are.
This is what, the third time in five years that pundits and doomposters have declared the start of Forever WW3/GWOT 2.1? Fourth time? Wake me up if anything further actually happens but this shit is so often followed up by sound and fury but no boots on the ground

I have a RETARDED question unrelated to iran but about us politics, specifically US monetary policy

I swear I mean this question earnestly

If you (the fed/mint) print money and just dont tell anyone does it still cause inflation? I know on its surface it may seem obvious but the more I think about it the more it becomes the "tree falling in a forest with no one around" though process

If im wining in ANY argument in the future just quote this lil gem back to me "you figured out object permanence yet Adam Smith?"

She wasn't going to bomb Russia, though. Just help Ukraine out because they're our ally and all that jazz.
I am curious as to the difference between supplying your ally with bombs that they themselves will use, and simply using the bombs yourself.

What kind of mental gymnastics is this? Who cares if the plane that drops the bomb is a Ukrainian one or an American or an Israeli one? At the end of the day you're still involved in the conflict. You are really, really reaching with this one. Ukraine is our ally, Israel is our ally, we help them for different reasons but we still help them. You're either for conflict or you're not, pick one. You can't have your nitroglycerin and smoke it too.

This is adjusted for inflation. We have supplied Israel with approx $300b since 1948. We have supplied Ukraine with approx $110b since 2022. I trust that you can do the math yourself.
It is almost fucking incomprehensible to me. This is a stark reminder of the real cost of actual war, as opposed to simply surviving in a hostile environment for a protracted period.
