Russia is producing about 250,000 artillery munitions per month, or about 3 million a year. In 2024, Russia was firing around 10,000 shells a day, compared to just 2,000 a day from the Ukrainian side, a European intelligence official told CNN.View attachment 7539309
That's wartime levels of production. At the height of Ukraine, and supplying Ukraine, only 28k per month were produced.
All their leaders have official government positions that they get huge oil revenue skims from, they've become corrupted by filthy lucre and wandered off the trail of jihadNYT: Iraqi militias have mostly retreated from attacking American bases. That leaves the Houthi militia of Yemen [as Iran's only allied militia in the region.]
They've been signalling "jihad against the great satan" and that's been the marching orders of their proxies for decades now.If the Iranian leadership, and even the Ayatollah, were not rational to some degree, they would have launched on a jihad against the Great Satan as soon as it became clear that Israel is trying to topple their government.
I do agree that Iranian leadership is not wholly irrational, but is fundamentally and strategically irrational, in the way Japan was fundamentally and strategically irrational in its government in the 1940s. Consider a government where the strict and alien codes of conduct create completely rational actors pursuing occasionally sound strategies to pursue completely irrational goals. This is Japan, trying to conquer East and Southeast Asia with an army that couldn't sustainably occupy Northeast China, which has limited oil, coal, and iron of its own. Lots of early successes, but factional infighting, unaccountable militaries, and a culture of worship and veneration around a supreme leader which is the paper covering over a culture of scheming and infighting. There are diplomats from Iran right now in Europe who are skilled, clearheaded diplomats trying to keep everyone on a sinking ship that is also on fire and being eaten by sharks.Again, if the Iranian leadership were truly irrational, these considerations would not matter. They clearly realize their network of support is in tatters.
Look you don't get it....But Iran said they emptied the facilities a long time ago and no materials or equipment were there, curious how they need to run tests still!
