Thread Purpose
While the Happenings thread is mainly dedicated to case updates (though his orbiters are discussed), this thread is dedicated for those who want to a-log, thirstpost, shitpost and laugh at a dumb yet fuckable criminal and his delusional orbiters without disrupting the culture of the other thread. Case updates will still be discussed here most likely and recaps of orbiter drama will be posted in Happenings if relevant to Luigi's case, but generally the two threads will be differentiated in this way. Happy posting!
In the early hours of December 4th 2024, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was gunned down outside the Hilton Hotel by an masked gunman. On bullets left at the crime scene the words "delay, deny, depose" had been inscribed, and a bag of Monopoly money belonging to the shooter was found in Central Park. In the following media swarm all we knew about our yet-to-be identified assailant was that he had a beautiful smile and killed a CEO, an action that was widely celebrated across the Internet and certain pockets of American society.
Our assailant, who had been christened "The Adjuster", was identified as 26 year old Italian-American Luigi Mangione, the youngest son of a wealthy Baltimore family (who were ironically involved in the healthcare industry operating private nursing homes) on the 9th of December in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He had been eating a hashbrown in a local McDonalds when a customer became suspicious of him, noticing his resemblance to the above photos, and a cashier phoned in the tip. While the details of his arrest are controversial with Luigi's defense attorneys Tom Dickey and Karen Friedman Agnifilo alleging illegality, once police arrested him for providing a false ID with the name "Mark Rosario" a confession letter and ghost gun similar to what was observed in the CCTV were found in Luigi's possession, and he was officially put into custody for the murder of Brian Thompson.
Luigi's good looks combined with his actions inspired a massive wave of thirsting, and entire communties sprung up around this man of whom we knew very little at this stage (more on that to come).
Luigi the Man
In addition to his prominent family more details began to emerge about Luigi once he was apprehended. He had no personal connection to UnitedHealthcare but did suffer from spondylolisthesis (a disease of the spine), and books on spinal health were found on his Goodreads. He was an active social media user with accounts on Xitter, Reddit, Steam, Substack, Instagram and many others, and much of what we know of him come from them. From what we could gleam from his social media (especially his Xitter) was that despite shooting a CEO Luigi was not politically left-wing, interacting with accounts supportive of Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. Luigi had some particular pet concerns, such as declining masculinity in modern males, collapsing birth rates and the ills of pornography consumption. His Xitter account is still publicly available to peruse. According to his Reddit Luigi also suffered from brain fog, visual snow and Lyme disease in addition to his spondy. Despite these health issues Luigi was academically successful; he was the valedictorian at his all-boys private school Gilman, and graduated with a B.A. and M.A. in computer science from the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania. After his graduation Luigi began working as an engineer at TrueCar, a car marketplace, and left the United States to live at a Hawaiian commune for rich people called Surfbreak, headed by a man named RJ Martin. Tracey Le, another resident of Surfbreak who knew Luigi in 2022, came forward as a friend of Luigi with whom she regularly bought Mochi Ice Cream with. Katy, a young woman who knew Luigi as a teenager in 2019 (he was her Stanford Camp Counsellor) came forward and claimed Luigi to be a thoughtful and caring person. RJ Martin also broke his silence and described Luigi as thoughtful and intelligent but revealed that Luigi struggled with his spinal issues and confided fears of impotency. All of this information cast Luigi in a very sympathetic light, and soon a fandom was born.

While early discussion of Brian Thompson's murder focused on its justifiability and its relationship to the American healthcare system, the most intense interest Internet users had was in Luigi himself. Naturally Luigi fans began engaging in correspondence with him, eagerly anticipating reply. One of these letter writers was Holli Lambirth, and she received one of the earliest letters from Luigi. In it he discusses his arrest and Internet fame.
The Luigi fans of Reddit were not pleased with this letter, deeming it too low-IQ and unserious and therefore fake.
While Luigi has written many letters since then, those will be discussed in the communities and cows and letters sections. On a personal level we came to know that Luigi dated the daughter of a Zionist billionaire, Paulina Gazin, in 2019 and 2020, with the couple breaking up at an unknown date in either 2020 or 2021.
Moreover, it came to light that Luigi had made extensive travels across Asia in the spring and summer of 2024, visiting Thailand, Japan and India. There he met two German men whose faces are captured in the second photo. The German tourists claimed Luigi was popular with the women with Thailand and he was interested in them as well. Apparently Luigi visited a gun range and discussed the book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman".
While Luigi's travels in Asia were known since December, in February a book titled Luigi Mangione: Last Known Contact was self-published online by an unknown author named "Mario", a clear reference to Mario and Luigi. The book was obviously written with AI assistance. It can be read here: https://archive.is/9goE0. Its author claims to have had in depth conversations with Luigi on politics, religion and the meaning of life (none of which are developed in any detail), but what caught the attention of the wider Luigisphere are the text messages contained within it. These messages contain Luigi defecating on the toilet, holding porn cards, engaging in fights with Thai ladyboys and acting like a sex pest in Japan. It is believed that the German tourists wrote this book but this has yet to be confirmed.
While it's natural to be skeptical of the above messages, their reality is widely recognised due to Luigi's physical features such as his feet, thumb, moles and outfit lining up with the earlier Thai photos, in addition to the "peak misogyny" text having already been reported in outlets such as the NYT (the recipient was not identified by name). The general Luigisphere saw nothing wrong with these messages, and only one community (lolcow.farm) began to treat Luigi as a lolcow following this revelation.
After trekking around Asia Luigi returned to San Francisco where he had been living sometime in late summer or early autumn. On his Goodreads account Luigi had shelved "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents" in his to-be-read section. This book is addressed to children of narcissistic, neglectful and otherwise emotionally unavailable parents as a validation of their emotional experiences, and is generally too personalised of a book to be of interest to anyone who lacks prior experience with the subject matter. Reports emerged in outlets like The Rolling Stone and the San Francisco Chronicle that Luigi had been estranged from his entire family since 2023, and that his mother in particular was "overbearing". One of Luigi's friends called Danny received a very long text message from Luigi at this time where he discussed feeling lonely and misunderstood.

Legal Trouble
Following his arrest in Altoona Luigi had a viral outburst.
This event only further increased interest in him. In Pennsylvania he retained Tom Dickey as his lawyer, but given the nature of the crime Luigi was being charged in two other jurisdictions: the state of New York where the murder took place and on the federal level where Luigi was being charged as a terrorist. Initially Luigi refused to be extradited to Metropolitan Detention Center in New York but later relented. During a hearing in Pennsylvania (which was not filmed) Luigi publicly disputed the amount of money found in his backpack that was attributed to him and announced that he had recently bought the face mask he had been seen wearing in Altoona, which prompted Dickey to tell him to shut up.

While Dickey has a liscence to practice law in New York he is unable to do so on the federal level, prompting Luigi to search for a lawyer that could do both. He soon retained former prosecutor turned defence attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo. Karen has decades of legal experience, is a co-host of the podcast Legal AF, is a consultant for Law and Order and is married to Marc Agnifilo, also a lawyer. Some of Marc's clients include convicted sex cult leader Keith Raniere and alleged (as of this writing) rapist and whoremonger P. Diddy.
On December 20th Luigi was the centerpiece of staged perp walk attended by New York mayor Eric Adams and a host of police personnel. Pictures from this event went viral and further served to intensify public interest in Mangione.
Three days later Luigi and Karen appeared together in court for the first time to attend Luigi's formal New York state arraignment. Luigi plead not guilty to the charges, and Karen requested immediate expedited discovery and was highly critical of the perp walk.
While there was nearly universal enthusiasm for KFA's appointment amongst the Luigi fandom, not all quarters were happy with this arrangement. Two Orthodox Jews (a relevant detail as KFA is a practicing Jew) protested Karen's retainment on Luigi's behalf, alleging that she works for the prosecution and intends to sabotage Luigi's defense. Luigi would appear next in state court on February 21st, 2025. It was a very short hearing in which Karen complained about the slow turnover of discovery which delayed her ability to file motions, an assertion rejected by both the prosecution and the judge. This hearing is most significant due to #LoveNoteGate: a fan of Luigi's claiming connection to r/freeluigi, the largest pro-Luigi Reddit community, snuck the below notes to Luigi inside argylle socks given to his legal team. It should also be noted that Luigi was wearing green on this date, which is significant as Luigi Reddit communities had been campaigning for him to wear green in the days prior.
As can be discerned from this incident Karen Friedman is intensely involved with Luigi's social media supporters, the full extent of which will be outlined in the communities and cows section. Karen and her legal team have set up their own official website for Luigi's case (luigimangioneinfo.com), and fans have noted that language in her defense filings shares similarities to social media postings. Moreover Karen is encouraging of fans writing letters to Luigi, and the website contains a letter log compiled by Luigi himself of all the letters he has received. As a side note, all defense motions can be found on the official website.
As of this writing six months have passed since Luigi's arrest, and he has appeared in court three times: twice in New York state court and once in federal court, which was not filmed. His federal court hearing was the most recent, taking place on the 25th of April. In it a federal motion schedule was outlined, and Luigi will appear in court in December so a date can be set for his federal trial. Currently there is very little activity in the Pennsylvania case with the New York trials taking precedence. Detailed summaries and discussions of Luigi's case and motions can be found in the dedicated thread in Happenings as well as substantiation of everything written above.
Communities, Cows and Characters
Dozens of people of rather dubious ethics and sanity have attached themselves to Luigi Mangione and his case, and it would be impossible to concisely cover them all. This section will detail the most relevant of these characters and their impact on Luigi's case and the discourse surrounding him, in addition to Luigi's interactions with them and what these relationships reveal about his character.
Grifter Daddies
Luigi was quite active in rather obscure Xitter communities, and admired a variety of male "thought leaders" in these circles. One of these is Gurwinder, an Indian-British blogger who runs the Substack blog "The Prism". His articles mainly concern modern society and technology. He wrote an article about his relationship with Luigi on his Substack which is still available to read, though he has made some alterations to it since its first publication. Luigi paid Gurwinder 200 bucks on May 6th 2024 (Luigi's birthday) to talk to him, and according to Gurwinder Luigi discussed his fears surrounding modern mens' porn addictions and the hikkikomori phenomenon. Luigi also confided in Gurwinder a familial history of generational trauma, which Gurwinder told him wasn't real. An email revealed in the article concerned an episode where Luigi reported a man's seizure to Japanese police who followed Luigi to the man but refused to cross the road if the stoplight wasn't green despite there being no traffic. This incident lead to Luigi deeming the nation of Japan as being full of "NPCs". You can see Luigi's discussion of Japanese pornsickness and excerpts of Gurwinder's article below. Gurwinder has earned the title of Grifter Daddy by appearing in several documentaries about Luigi while simultaneously denouncing his actions, though he is generally complimentary of Luigi's character. Moreover, Gurwinder's writings may have influenced Luigi's commission of the crime.

Another Grifter Daddy is Indian author Jash Dholani, an Elon Musk dickrider and author of a slop book called "Hit Reverse". Jash's writings are a schizophrenic blend of faux-traditionialism, transhumanism and misogyny. Luigi attempted to buy 400 copies of Hit Reverse, a summary of which is given below.
Luigi's favourite grifter daddy was Internet writer Tim Urban, an atheistic "classical liberal" who is also a transhumanist and Zionist. Luigi had been following Tim's blog since high school and wanted his book taught in schools. Upon Luigi's arrest Tim expressed surprise that he was an influence on Luigi and asserted that Luigi misunderstood his work as murdering Brian Thompson was "illiberal". Tim's book is replete with children's drawings.
The final and perhaps most infamous grifter daddy I'll be covering goes by the name Max/Minor Dissent on Xitter and Substack. Max doesn't seem to have an ideology per se but does fancy himself as an intellectual; he is also a misogynist and race realist. Luigi was a consistent reply guy of Max's who seemed otherwise oblivious to his existence until he heard of Luigi's arrest, after which he revealed that the two had exchanged DMs. Initially Max refused to release them and began trolling Luigi stans by claiming he was racist and sexist, and the small furor this created on social media caught the eye of KFA. Max later released these DMs and they were a complete nothingburger. Despite Max's ignorance of Luigi prior to Brian's murder he has since released a multipart Substack series titled "The Exegesis of Luigi Mangione" that is still ongoing. Max's writings may have also influenced the shooting.
Hybristophiles
Given the preponderance of women with this paraphilia in the true crime community, it seems almost inevitable that such women would be drawn to a handsome, young, athletic and wealthy man who committed one of the most famous crimes of the 21st century. This phenomenon even extended to Kiwifarms itself, as regular poster in the Happenings thread @Helvetia lied about receiving a highly detailed letter from him. I covered Helvetia's extensive lies and contradictions on approximately page 365 of the Happenings thread and she has not logged in since.
Ashley Stella Muller, otherwise known as FatAshley, is the Hitlerite mod of r/freeluigi. In real life she is a 28 year old single mother who works in marketing and switched fandom loyalties from Taylor Swift to Luigi. Ashley poached r/freeluigi from its original creators back in December. Ashley was probably the most infamous of Luigi's orbiters in the early months of this case; she was extremely boastful of her connections to Luigi's legal team, organised harassment campaigns against Holli Lambirth (whose letter she denounced as a forgery) and the prosecution, banned any Redditor who dared to insinuate Luigi's guilt and did everything she could to control discourse surrounding Luigi's case by forbidding the sharing of letters. Ashley's grip on the Luigisphere diminished after #LoveNoteGate as a prominent member of the subreddit accused her of writing the notes. Ashley censored anyone who questioned her about the notes, and her Stalinist tactics prompted a lolcow farm user lurking in her Discord to gather and compile Ashley's personal information. Note the similarities between Ashley's handwriting and the Love Notes.

Club Mangione/Katherine Geleta is a chronically online Xitter user who suffers from the unfortunate combination of being both unattractive and mentally deranged. She is in her early 30s and a marketing graduate with a minor in women's and gender studies. Katherine's fame derives from concocting fantastical tales about her various mental illnesses and personal connections with Luigi in addition to her aggression towards anyone who defiles the honour of her precious Weegee. Katherine has written to Luigi and received a reply from him where he tells her of an apple tree he's growing in MDC. Prisonscrote and former MDC inmate Michael Daddea revealed this to be a lie in a Discord server, prompting her to harass him on Instagram. Katherine is also notable for her obsession with lolcow.farm, and her abuse of the moderation system lead to those threads being discontinued. This was a long-time goal of hers as she couldn't stand them making fun of her.
In the above tweet CM is referring to the hidden board of lolcow to which the Luigi Mangione threads were moved after constant brigading from non lolcow users. After the hidden thread was discontinued a Discord was created which she gained access to, and she is also aware of KF and lurks here.
A particularly infamous hybristophile was Fellatia G, an OnlyFans whore who went semi-viral in after giving deranged interviews to several press outlets. She is a friend of Jamie Peck, one of the founders of Luigi's defense fund over on GiveSendGo. She attracted the ire of the broader Luigi fandom and has been quiet since then.
As mentioned above Jamie is the one of the organisers of Luigi's legal fund. She is also a 40 year old OnlyFans whore and self-described communist. During the Fellatia drama Redditors became critical of Jamie after she made sexual remarks about Luigi on her podcast. She was also revealed to be a lifelong hybristophile that wrote a piece on Luka Magnotta's arrest where she was openly attracted to him.
There are plenty of other minor sideshow lolcows that would fall into this category. Jessica/Jessicat, another middle aged OF "model" and single mom is a constant donator to Luigi's defense fund. She has also received two letters from him, one of which was personalised and the other one of Luigi's mass productions.
Jules is another mid-thirties BPD hybristophile but is unusual in that she doesn't have an Onlyfans. Like Jessica she has received two letters from Luigi, a fact that pleases her so much that she regularly masturbates to her letter. She also got Luigi's "Carpe Diem" salutation tattoed.
Pilotsfan21 is perhaps the most innocuous of this group. She was one of the earliest letter writers to receive a reply from him, and from her letter Luigi's "humans are born resilient" line became a catchphrase in the Luigisphere. She also wrote poetry for him.
Mia is the only known failed hybristophile. It's unknown what she looks like but she received a very dismissive letter from Luigi after sending him pictures of herself and her vacation.
The final hybristo I will cover is the unidentified Rednote Schizo, who almost got Luigi cancelled after faking a letter where he describes New Orleans as "ghetto". The furor resulting from this prompted Luigi's legal team to confirm the letter as fake.
Lolcow.farm was probably the only sane Luigi community and was the only one that didn't deny his guilt. Lolcow became infamous in the wider Luigisphere due to its explicit sexual content, a-logging of Luigi and irreverant attitude towards the BPDs comprising most of Luigi's fanbase. The general lolcow attitude towards Luigi can be summarised as such:
Lolcow users have a very fertile imagination and have produced many works of art depicting Luigi. Nicknames are typically used to denote the various Luigis depicted; below we have Chrisigi, Priestigi, Cageigi, etc.
Various Other Characters
There are also plenty of weirdos attached to this case that don't technically qualify as hybristophiliacs. One of them is Karen Friedman herself. As mentioned above she is so chronically online she employs Xitter talking points in her legal filings and engages personally with stan accounts. She is also a liberal that hates Donald Trump passionately.
Karen's daughter Sofia Agnifilo, also a member of Luigi's legal team, came to prominence after Luigi was observed smiling at her during his April 25th federal hearing. In her late teens and early 20s Sofis and her twin sister Alex produced IG thot contact and attracted dozens of stan accounts.
Michael Daddea is a former prisonscrote and acquaintance of Luigi currently ingratiating himself with Luigi's fanbase.
Letters
In the seven months since his arrest Luigi has received thousands of letters, but can only reply to a small number due to stamp limitations. So far he has mass produced two letters, the first being a narrative of him killing a cockroach before his February hearing and the second a list of things he's grateful for. According to the list letter he is grateful for KFA, the work of Ayn Rand, those who have donated to his fund, America's "robust frame" and its political system. I'll let you be the judge if that makes sense in light of his actions.
Thematic Analysis
There are a few noteworthy themes that arise when making sense of this case. Luigi's guilt is not in doubt given the volume of evidence against him, including his own work where he references Ted K. several times.
As can be seen in the journal Luigi exhibits a very strong egotism, a trait that can also be observed his pseudo-intellectual musings on Xitter.
Luigi also had a strong disdain for women, such as this tweet where he discusses with a man posing as a woman if women are natural slaves.
