King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

What's really interesting is that Tilly's negative traits the narcissism, overblown ego, exaggerated sense of self are all present in the woman an adult Hank would eventually marry.

I wonder if that was intentional social commentary on Judge's part.
How? Wouldn't a woman that would conform to social constricts be Hank's preference? I cannot see somebody that is unabashedly feminine be compatible with Hank's personality. I thought Tilly was the way she is because of Cotton.

Bush was Satan around the time the George Bush episode came out so Hank didn't even support him at the time.
Someone already said why Hank did not want to vote for Bush Jr.: he had a weak handshake. Before that, Hank was all gung-ho about voting for him since he was also from Texas.

Hank likes her strong personality and while Peggy is not a stereotype, she's pretty feminine in her own way.

Obviously the in universe reason would not be Bush's politics but politics was why he wasn't fully supported by Hank and neither will Trump most likely if he is going to be handled on the new show anytime soon. Even though Judge supposedly is a closeted right leaner.

Was it? I don't remember Hank ever criticizing him, like at all, outside of that one episode for that one specific reason. Who knows if they're gonna even talk about it?

Connie is pretty consistently portrayed as massively insecure and desperate for approval in the show's original run.

It doesn't seem like a huge stretch that she'd get heavily into woke college bullshit in an effort to fit in.
Not really? She only was really like that when Bobby was fawning over her cousin that one time. Otherwise, she acted like a normal 12 year old girl with scholastic ambitions, which does include some insecurity and wanting some approval. she does have a rebellious streak as we saw with her secretly dating Bobby and secretly fiddling and being into bluegrass, she even lied to Kahn about being at an academic camp when she really went to Branson with Hank and co.

I think her ethical non-monogamy stance might come from that rebellious streak and also from lack of experience. If she's gonna date Bobby again, he wouldn't stand for that (remember his whole thing with Marie dancing with other guys?).

Peggy centric episodes were always my favorite. Her unwarranted self-importance always got her in some hilarious situations. My favorite one was when they go on a church retreat to a country music festival and believes Randy Travis stole her song.

I hope we get a decent Peggy episode in this revival.
But he did steal her song (and her story about her giant feet). He even claimed he saved Hank from drowning when really it was Hank who saved him.

Maybe she has a boyfriend in college but cheats on him with Bobby when she visits home?
I kinda hope that Connie tries to do this and Bobby finds out before they do anything and gets weirded out by it. Last half of the episode is him dealing with the fallout of having made the right decision.

I just like the idea of a socially well adjusted Bobby. It makes me warm and fuzzy and happy inside.

People are overreacting over the Connie thing. That's just a very pc euphemism for "promiscuous". She sleeps around but doesn't want a relationship. She seems the liberal type to reject the label of "promiscuous" for being sex-negative.

That doesn't mean she isn't settling down when she finds a guy she likes.

So I was watching Squirrel Tactics' videos and I never really thought about how Tilly was herself a terrible mother. Yeah, sure, she gets overshadowed by Cotton and being married to him mitigates a lot of blame, but she wasn't there for Hank when he needed her and becomes a pretty irresponsible, erratic person in her Golden years. Old women driving large vehicles terrify me on so many levels.

I never thought about Tilly basically being "Cotton's Peggy". A dumb woman that causes crazy antics.
In a weird way, Hank dated his mom, but also a better version of his mom - a version of his mom who would stand up to Cotton and always have his corner.

Watched this guy's video on Lucky and Its crazy how so many of the comments genuinely hate him.

These people have clearly never been in hick relationships, or relationships period. Lucky's shown to be a good man with morals and principles behind him, he may not be a millionaire but he's way better than the countless sleazeballs Luanne met up with that's mainly for her looks.

What if he slipped on peepee at Microsoft?

I've noticed late zoomers are extremely fucking weird about any sort of age gap, and these people certainly talk like late zoomers. They'll hear that Sally McFuckFace, age 25 is dating Donnie McDingleBerry, age 31 and they'll act like it's the same as a 24 year old man dating a 15 year old or some shit. It's quite strange, especially considering most of that generation is terminally pornsick and is most assuredly not puritan in many other ways. Someone who's 23 dating a 19 year old? You sick fuck, you're a fucking pedophile bro.

Also I'm pretty sure it's never really outright stated how old Lucky is in the show, and in any case both parties are adults, so who gives a shit? Part of the pitch for Lucky was probably "we want Tom Petty to voice a character and he's down to do it" so it was done, it doesn't necessarily mean the character is implied to be Tom Petty's actual age. It's like some form of turbo-feminist shit that ironically makes it seem as if fully grown, adult women have no agency of their own and infantilizes them to an extent, necessitating that society "call out" some 30 year old dude dating a woman who's 24, like she needs to be protected from herself, as if she can't make her own decisions.

How much more figuring out was Luanne supposed to do?

She had a safe environment with family and no bills to try and get through beauty school. That fell through (sort of), and she got a job and Hank helped her become self-sufficient and she got her own place.

Then she tried the hair thing again and was good at it, and she also got to put her creativity to use and do children’s entertainment (probably her real calling).

As far as men, she had no shortage of them before Lucky. She dated around, and he was the one that was best for her, and she stuck with him.
Some of this was before, some of this was after Lucky. He never held her back.

These people only pay attention insofar as they can insert their pre-conceived views.

Lucky is 38, from Edjumacating Lucky.

Peggy~ "Just our luck that luanne would fall for a 38 year old snaggle toothed slip and fall man!"
